I would totally wear those boots to work!

These are wonderful on you and seem to suit your style perfectly!

#4 looks perfect for work! Go for it!

Yeah, baby. You knew I would love them on you, as long as they fit! I don't even need to see the outfits (my computer is slow right now so I can only see the thumbnails). I've worn them to work twice already. With the whole thing folded up to look like a normal boot, they are pretty conservative. Relatively speaking, of course.

High five, boot twin!

They look fantastic on you, Rae, and I'm sure they fit with your style. Love them with the plaid shirt! I am with Anna that they work better with slightly more casual looks (vs. the red dress) but basically, that just means they work for Fridays at work and all weekends, so you are set! What a terrific boot!

Great boots; I love them! If they are comfortable, keep!!!!

I think they'll work for Friday's and the weekend, and night! (Not all night; I'm NOT advocating wearing them to bed!)

Is there a question here? Keepity keep!

I like the shaft height very much and they work perfectly in all the versions you've posted. Folded up, even I'd wear them to work:)

firstly--they are so fab i'm plotzing

secondly--totally work approp with #1 and #4 from the second set of photos

thirdly--why are you still perseverating...wear them out already and shock the world with your fabulosity

I really like them Rae, but I do not *love* them. Your executions are flawless and it's not your styling. It's that side boot view that's wreaking havoc with my eyes. They are VERY wide at the ankle, and I can't help but feel that they are slightly overwhelming. (You might like to read my comment on Cceile's thread). FWIW, that's what I see.

(I know the boots well as they were on the NAS this year. I have seen them on many body types and heights).

But I do think that you get away with it, and if you love them, by all means keep them. Sorry to be a mare. I wish I could say that they were killer

Thank you for chiming in, everyone!

Angie, I especially appreciate you giving your honest opinion in the midst of resounding keep votes. It definitely gives me great pause that they are not K-worthy in your eyes. I have been really trying to up my standards.

Also, for anyone else eyeing these, the spats did come unsnapped once as I zipped around the apartment, putting them through comfort tests. I can't yet say for sure if I had snapped them sloppily or if it was really the boot's fault. But I for one liked them for two look options, and that goes out the window if "spat mode" is disabled.

By spats, do you mean the inner or outer layer? My outer layer stays closed but unsnaps when in "regular" boot mode, which I think is a flaw, but it doesn't bother me because the integrity of the look is still there AND it makes it easier to walk.

Re: the side clunkiness, that is absolutely part of the charm for me as an IT. I feel that grounds/balances me and is so much a part of my style. I'm going to post more photos this morning so Angie can compare... I can't imagine how they'd work for me and not for you, as our styles and coloring are somewhat similar. If anything, you're younger and cooler!

Well, I think they say "Rae" like nothing else I've seen since the black shearling jacket. (don't worry, they say "Una" too!). I think the style trumps the 'big at the ankle' issue. But it would be hard for me to keep something Angie wasn't wild about.

Una, yes, I mean the outer layer. Hm, if yours stay closed, then maybe it doesn't matter. I thought it might flap open after I walk in them more, but it seems you've worn yours enough to prove me wrong.

Claire, I do like them a lot folded down. My favorites are the versions with the denim dress and the black polka dot dress. But yes, not to offend the rest of the Yay voters, but Angie is the pro, and her word carries more weight.

I think I will have to show them to Hubs and let his opinion tilt the scales...

So I'm thinking after seeing my photos that these boots add a "bootcut" shape to the feet, and I normally dislike that on me, and think it looks great on others. Shouldn't that work well for gals with hips and booty?

Rae, I'm going to second Angie. I like them but don't love them. I would reserve "love" for a boot that was slimmer overall on the ankle. Also, snapping and unsnapping on their own would make me nuts.

It's a hard decision, for sure Rae! The boots totally fit your style, but I get what you mean about Angie

I'm leaning toward sending mine back -- just spent a ton on the Anthro Bailey 44 dress and more at the Anthro sale, so it works out. Waiting for the perfect RATE boot to come along...

I am SO LATE to this boot party, but I just had to say KEEP, Rae. They are so you and look great with every photo shown. I'm glad you found them. Enjoy.

Rae (and Cathy), thanks for being ever so gracious and a good sport. THAT means a lot to me. I was *just* going to suggest that you ask hubs what he thinks :). Please keep us posted on his opinion.

I am absolutely the minority opinion here, which once again demonstrates how subjective our fashion and style judgements are. What we all have to do in these types of situations is filter the responses. Absorb the ones that hold the most weight and block out the rest. Sometimes my opinion holds a little more weight, and in other cases the opinions of others hold more clout. It all depends on whose judgement bodes best with you at the time, and over time. I hope that makes sense!

Rae, once again, I want to reiterate that I do like you in those boots. I just don't think that they are a 10.

Well, hubby's opinion was a shrug. He said he doesn't mind if I keep them or not, but I feel that that's about on par with Angie's not-a-10 rating. For the price, I really want them to be a 10.

Sorry to have created such a long thread only to decide to return. :T While I do love these boots in their own right, they aren't 100% perfect for my body. Thank you all for your time and thoughtful responses - they were still super helpful in the decision process!

A hubs-shrug was all you needed

A KILLER pair of boots or booties awaits you!
