Moto vest... let me count the ways

Again, Angie was right. The woman is never wrong!?! She nudged (okay, shoved) me toward buying the moto vest at NAS. Miraculously, it goes with everything! I can only hope that everyone around me loves it too since they'll be seeing it a lot this fall. What do you think? And what do you think about the Fly London booties? They are brown, grey and black and seem to also go with everything.

Holy macaroni Laura, you rock that moto vest something awesome! I love,love,love it every which way you've styled it, my favourites being one with the Club Monaco blouse and the Max Studio sack dress. I like the booties (I can't help but be juvenile and laugh every time I hear this word) and I think they go great with everything. I like them fine with the leggings too.

I had a winter scarf that has these colors and recall that I wore it to death since it went with everything I owned ...

p.s. to Maya: the Fly London wedge ankle boots are also very cute, but they look fairly boho due to the way the leather is tanned and the brass tacks and the styling. (I ordered the brown). If the red patent came in my size, I would be much more tempted, but no luck!

You are working that vest, big time! I've never considered a moto vest before, but after seeing your photos ... wow. My favs are the same as niva's -- the CM blouse and the sack dress. I like how you mix feminine pieces with the tough moto vest look.

I like your ankle boots, but couldn't really see how they worked with your outfit with the purple CK dress. I think it looked ok, but I like having a clean line (no skin showing) if I were wearing booties and a dress.

As a matter of fact, your Fly London bootie purchase spurred me to check out the line and I ended up ordering some black knee-high wedge boots! We'll see how they work out

BIG drool. My favorites are also the CM blouse and MS sack dress. The boots are awesome too. You're pretty much set for a super stylish fall. I think I prefer without the skin showing on the tights but it works either way.

Laura, every single one of those outfits is a huge success. I'm so glad you kept that Max Studio sack dress. It just needed a little jazzing up. The boos are adorable. I liked the wedge ones because of the texture on the wedge part. Didn't realize they would be so boho looking. But the ones you're keeping look great. How high is the heel?

Maya, the heels are about 2". Maybe 2 1/4". That's my limit The detailing on the heel of the wedge boots was indeed cute, as was the back zip. They had a very boho leather/wood/brass tacks feel to them.

Wow Laura, I am late to the party, but I had to say - I am in awe! I am amazed at your supersonic progress. I really, really like that dress from last year (that's MJ, right?), such a great piece. And the puffer looks great on you - I was eying it in the catalog but can't justify the purchase, so I'll enjoy it on you.

I missed this thread the first time around (my laptop crashed last week and I've been trying to catch up ever since).

I think I need to go lie down for a minute. That vest is fantastic and I am super impressed with all the different outfits you've come up with. I agree with the other lasses, you have undergone an amazing style transformation and you are getting more daring and fabulous by the minute. Your personality is really shining through in the way you dress, and you look so confident. I love it!!

Awww, you all are so sweet! You have completely made my day. Thank you as always for bolstering my confidence. I have had so much fun changing my style and discovering who I was under those layers of cargo pants and fleece jackets and bobbed hairstyles. Not that any of those in and of itself is bad, it was just not me anymore. YLF makes me feel I can take on the world!

Another moto vest hit. Wow!!! Love the look, and you know what? I really love how your skin is showing between boots and leggings. I think it goes really well with the vest and the dresses. It gives it a nonchalantly hip attitude.

I didn't open this thread for awhile because I was sure that I would never like a moto vest, and you have totally proved me wrong. I love all the ways you've made it work, and I love how it looks edgy, stylish, and sophisticated at the same time. You look amazing!
