Two jobs are overload of stress and anxiety - I went through that last month. I need things/clothes for my new job but I'm being very careful with selective buying strategy ( and frugal with my budget ). Sounds like you are doing great in "no purchase" commitments - good belt is a necessity and a must. Happy to hear that you are achieving your goals. I'll be waiting for your new posts.
Congratulations on all counts, Lisa. You are obviously doing well despite the hard work... there's a happy, accepting undertone to your post, which makes me happy
It seems like the start of the new season will be your first really big test. If you find yourself wavering, maybe get out the spring clothes a bit early and do some outfit planning?
nice going on the sticking to your resolutions. and yes to seeing all the new colors and fresh things in stores gives me the "wants" as well. i live a couple of blocks from one of the main shopping districts in my city, and when i don't have anything going on on a Saturday or sunday afternoon, i'd "take a walk" and end up going into the stores just to see, i'm working on walking the other direction to lessen the temptation.
This sounds really positive and I'm doing a happy dance!
I nodded and laughed along with the write-up, Lisa P. I think you've made very meaningful changes. You've soul searched, stayed focussed, and reaped the reward. WELL DONE.
No need to wear wide crops! YOU WILL NOT BE LEFT BEHIND
It sounds like you have a plan and goals and insight into your wants and needs. Congratulations. Sometimes in the change of seasons it is good not to shop until you know what you really want.
The Red Leopard site is interesting. I know some people don't subscribe to colour theory and seasons but I do. I was told that I was a summer back in the 80's and things have evolved since then but the colours in my "summer" swatch packet are still my best....even against my 30 yrs older face. Their summer makeup bundle includes navy mascara. I always use black/brown but I just might give that a try with a drugstore brand. I've been playing around with coloured eyeliners lately. I have hooded eyes with not much visible lid so eye shadows don't do much for me.
Reading about your progress and realizations is inspiring. It seems to me that overall you're really developing your powers of thoughtfulness: in what you eat, in your activities, in your purchases.
