Hi Candace

I hope you don't mind that I'm copying the links to your skirt and blouse below (I hope I have the right items?). I think it will be helpful to get more responses to your new question. Or you could start a new thread for this, that might increase traffic too.

Are these the shoes?

Yellow shoes will look great with your outfit, they really add a lovely pop of colour. I hope the others will be able to answer your question about needing more yellow or not;-)

thanks so much, Inge, I am barely computer literate. I have a yellow crop sweater but I will have to wait for the shoes to arrive before I decide if it looks right. I am not a big yellow person but these shoes looked so cute. They were sold out online but I was able to call my local Nordstrom and they were able to find my size. So for the future that's good to know that stores have access to more inventory then the regular online shopper.

Happy Easter everyone......

Candace, what cute pieces! I LOVE those shoes and think they will look awesome with the navy top and pale blue skirt.

I can't find a reference, but I think I recall Angie saying that for bright accent colors, her general rule of thumb is to have no more than two items of the same color in the same outfit to avoid looking too matchy-matchy. (Am I remembering correctly?)

My sense is that you will probably be okay if you don't add a second piece of yellow because the shoes will be eye-catching enough on their own, but I'd like to hear what the experts suggest.

thanks Kari, actually my top is white. I am still waiting for my shoes. I hope they come today. I can't wait to try on the whole outfit. I bought a yellow purse on Saturday, but I am not sure I love it. I will wait to see if it matches. I might me better off with the yellow sweater if it matches. But then what color purse would be okay. Black? thanks for all the help........

Candace, I think the outfit you have put together is very nice. The yellow shoes will stand out well on their own or you could add a yellow purse or a necklace with some yellow in it as well. Angie's rule of thumb is no more than 2 items of the same color in an outfit (as Kari mentioned). I don't think you have to add anything else yellow at all. For a purse, turquoise would be fun or even red or pink. I think black might be a little too harsh but you could definitely take a look when you get all the pieces and finally get to try your outfit on. Let us know what you decide!

It's a lovely outfit! I love Anthropologie and those shoes will bring some fun Florida sun to the outfit. I don't recall having any mother-daughter teas at my sorority for some reason, but I'm sure you would have fit right in!

thanks....I am so excited to see my daughter.....I have so much trouble putting together outfits. When my daughter is home I run my choices by her and the face says it all.

Dani, I never would of thought of a turquoise purse. I don't own many purses. I have the usual brown and black hobo bags. I need to branch out.

rosebudrmm, thanks for the encouragement..

My shoes didn't come today.....

My outfit was perfect! Thanks for all the advice. I got so many compliments on the skirt from Anthropologie and the yellow Born shoes. The security screener at the airport even commented on my outfit! My outfits are not usually that memorable so it was all fun....And best of all I had a great weekend spending time with my daughter and her new friends.

Glad you had a good time and felt great in your outfit.

That's fantastic news Candace! Seems like you received compliments all around (smile, the security screener;-). I'm glad to hear you felt fabulous and that you had a fabulous weekend!

Thanks for the update!!

Thanks for the update. It's wonderful when you feel you're dressed just right for the occasion.

Thanks for letting us know how it went. The right clothes can really make a difference sometimes.

This is one of the best YLF stories ever! I'm so glad you had fun with your daughter and her friends Candace. I bet your daughter was so happy to see you and was in awe of your outfit choice!
Those shoes are so cute. Were they comfy?
I love the whole outfit. It was perfect for a tea and especially for someone who doesn't want to dress over the top.

Just one last note....the shoes were very comfortable. I wore them for 11 hours, even running through the airport.

Shoes we all dream of;-)
