For those of you following the saga of the Michael Kors Astor satchel that I bought new with an eBay coupon, it arrived today! Hard to tell in the photos, but the gunmetal color is a deep metallic, not a blingy bright silver:

And the eBay seller included a nifty gifty that caused some head-scratching between DS and me, until we figured out what it was. See if you can identify this object:

The mystery gift is a handbag hook, I have several on my Ebay watching list they are a great idea especially for expensive handbags yours is fab x

The bag is beautiful and perfect for your neutral wardrobe, I have a distressed silver handbag (not blingy) which I love.

Handbag hooks are seeing a real resurgence, I believe Queen Elizabeth has them sewn into her handbags as well as subtle weights sewn into her hems to prevent them from being taken with the breeze. (Sorry I know I am THE font of useless information).

Oh, it's larger than I thought from the online photos, really like it!

My first guess was that the ebay seller had sent you a blingy replica of a UFO. But by photo #2 I was clued in!

I have not been here long enough to know what the "saga" is but your new MK bag is lovely and I think it was very sweet of the seller to include the hook. It makes the purchase double trendy!

What a fab bag. I love the color. And the shape. I have two handbag hooks, they come in quite handy. Except sometimes table are too thick to use them. Neat extra gift!

Yes, Angie -- I love the shape and design of it, and that fact that it's not space-blanket silver but a more muted metallic. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the size, since I think it's generous but not ridiculous (or as one of my friends says, "not so big that you look like an Olsen twin...")

Congrats, April! I've drooled about this bag before, and it helps to see the pics, too. I passed on a very similar metallic color at my local TJMaxx (we never get higher end brands like this, what happened?) because it looked too bright. Now I wonder if my eyes were bad that day or something, heh. Oh well, another time, another chance.
