I am so glad you got her to the hospital soon and that she was diagnosed and treated rapidly. My thoughts are with your MIL and your family; wishing her a speedy recovery.

Best thought for the recovery. I know when my dad had pneumonia last month how scary it was.

I'm so sorry I didn't see this earlier. How scary for your poor MIL. I'm glad that she is recovering well and that the hospital is looking after her properly. x

Deborah, I was drowning in my own stresses these days to give this thread the attention it deserves. I am sorry you and your family had to go through all this and I am wishing your MIL a speedy recovery.

Oh, I hope she is continuing to recover and feel better every day. Pneumonia is serious for the elderly, so glad she got treatment as quickly as realized.

Good news! My MIL is going home this afternoon. She has been in hospital for 5 days and she has been improving daily. I cannot tell you how much she wants to go home (home is an aged care facility) and get back to some lovely 'home' cooked meals, apparently the hospital food was a bit average. She will continue her treatment via oral antibiotics. Thanks again for your kind thoughts, it has been quite worrying.

Great news Deborah:)

Hi Deborah - I only just saw this now! How very stressful for you all! I am so glad your MIL is recovering! x

Deborah, commenting about bad hospital food is such a good sign

Wishing your MIL super fast recovery! I am sure familiar environment and your loving care will do the trick.

So good to hear good news! Hope it's a straight and smooth road to recovery for her.
