Microfishnets

I got called on wearing nude hose last winter. The consensus was that they're dated and that we are now wearing nude micro fishnets.

It looks like Nordstrom's has two kinds. Please vote if you have tried them and have a preference:

I'd also welcome comments or suggestions on other possibilities. Bare legs in winter are not an option around here.

I haven't tried either of those brands but i have a couple pairs of nude fishnets that i love from Kohl's from the Vera Wang line.

Well, I am going to be listening to the replies here.

So far, I have tried only the microfishnet knee highs. (With booties and trousers). And I hated the way they felt on my feet. SO uncomfortable. I am hoping it was simply the brand.

I also worry that they simply won't offer any warmth whatsoever. Will be listening closely.

They're cheaper, that's tempting. Too bad there's no Kohl's near me.I hate to pay $6 shipping on $9 panty hose.

I don't blame you. Shipping prices have gotten so ridiculous on some websites. I was overjoyed when i saw Nordstrom's was now offering free shipping all the time now!

ETA: I don't wear them in winter, it gets way too cold here. But i love them for spring/fall when it's just a tad too cold for bare legs but you aren't ready to incase you legs in black yet.

Suz, I have the same problem with these tights too ... I pretty much cannot stand any texture at all under the soles of my feet. (I hate shoes with seaming on the insoles too!). So I assume you have not had any luck finding any with plan soles?

Rita, I have totally layered nude hose under nude fishnets before for extra warmth while in NYC, etc.

I personally do not mind sheer nude hosiery sans pattern or sheen. I think it is a total style preference. I do love some fishnets (any color, please!)

Bj - I've seen that article before. Very interesting.
I have to add that I also have some wool tights to wear in the dead of the winter. It is the most casual look of all hosiery but works well with certain outfits.

I just remembered that there are also fleece-lined tights, which could be a great option if you like the look of opaques:

I vote nudes under fishnets too. Looking at the two you posted, I can't really see the fishnet of the first. I like the second a lot. For me, I want big enough fishnet pattern to see it and not just look like I have nubbly skin. LOL

Gee, I never wear hose...I always just go with bare legs unless I want some color with opaque tights. Are bare legs a faux pas too?

BTW, I've seen/heard of people wearing the infamous nude hose UNDER their nude or colored fishnets.

Bella, If nude hose are frumpy and outdated, I worry that nude underlayer + nude microfishnets would be double extra frumpy

Natalie, bare legs aren't the problem, it's the matronly outdated look of nude hose. Unfortunately bare legs are not an option in my climate.

I wear nude hose underneath my fishnets for transitional weather. In the wintertime, I go with two layers of opaque hose.

I have worn Wolfords nude fishnets; they're a dark caramel in the packet but they are great on. I love them and wear cotton gloves to put them on and off. I felt 'showgirly' the first time I wore them but they really work well and I'd recommend them. MaryK, I will try the Oroblu next time, too.
