HI MJP, I agree with Tanya completely. It is very subtle and sophisticated. I would ask you, however, how you would feel using it 2 or 3 years from now when zippers aren't so ubiquitous ? I LOVE this whole zipper as decoration trend. And, personally, this is subtle enough that I would wear it forever ( I am not a trend person ).
Also regarding the age thing. Don't push it !!! You are still in your thirties and no where near 40+. If you are looking for some real edge for the next couple of years then you should consider if you want an "investment" bag for 3 or 4 years or if you want one for life ( at this price it would be investment for me, only you can answer for yourself). I could totally picture Diane Sawyer, Iman, Halle Berry with this bag. These are all classy ladies well into their forties and fifties. I could even see Maria Berenson or Lauren Hutton with this.
Coming from an uber-conservative dresser, I find Kendall Farr great for core dressing, but she lacks a bit of edge. She is a bit too "precious" and careful sometimes. ( BTW you look really young, I would have NEVER pegged you for almost-37 ! )
In conclusion : ) , if you want a subtle trend that you can wear for a couple of years ( and can afford it ), get it. If you like this trend so much that you can see incorporating into your overall look for a little edge and for many years, get it.
