Yikes! That can be crazy-making and any reputable store should treat everyone the same and show parity to all customers. Glad there was a happy ending to this and an explanation to the behavior. It's also good that you spoke and/or wrote a letter.
That's horrible.
People give me such a hard time about being a "Nordstrom snob" but I've just had too many similar situations at other stores, and I'm honestly just over it.
From an Ann Taylor associate humiliating my husband, to Gap not honoring return policies, to BR being beyond pushy, to Express being totally rude.
I'm choosing to vote with my dollar, even if it means I have less to work with now. O:)
