I fell in love with these Rebecca Minkoff Edie Tassel Mid Heel Loafers with an almond-toe and stacked heel in black patent, but after wearing them for only one day my back heel was destroyed with a terrible blister! Needless to say I was concerned that the store may not allow me to return them since I’d worn them outside for a day. So, before attempting to do so, I reached out to Bloomingdale’s and Rebecca Minkoff in a private message on Facebook and to bolster my case, even sent a photo of my blistered heel. Fortunately, Bloomingdale’s accommodated me and they were very kind about the return. Now I’m left wanting to replace this pretty pair of loafers but I have to remind myself that I cannot buy anything that’s patent leather, because the shoes are usually stiff and do not give as well as leather. At first wearing, these seemed soft in the footbed, but it was the back heel that was an issue for me, slipping even when I tried it on in the shoe department. I generally do not buy a pair of shoes if I have to start inserting products in the shoe even before leaving the store. But, I loved these so much, I decided it was worth a try. This wasn’t a good idea and I am in heal mode due to the heel.
I considered traditional loafers, but those seemed clunky and boring. I do like the stacked heel version. One of the problems with this pair was that my heel did slip and the sales associate inserted heel grips in the shoe, which was part of the blister-causing problems. Perhaps the heel is just too high for my low volume feet.
If any of you have recommendations on super comfortable loafers that look anything like these, I would love to know. I’m including photos but I won’t include the injured heel photo I sent to them. Thanks for any leads you may have.
