Would you wear a lightweight moto jacket indoors?
I feel a bit funny about it, but maybe I should get over it.

I wear mine indoors at school all the time, but I probably wouldn't inside someone's house.

Sure -but of course it depends on how heavy yours is. I wear mine over my shoulder in a restaurant, and wore it all day last winter inside at a trade show I worked at. I don't wear mine with sweaters though - only with lightweight drapey silk tops.

I do, but sometimes I feel weird. It seems like the softer and drapier the more appropriate it feels for indoor wear. Stiffer and more structured makes me feel conspicuous indoors, but that may be something weird only going on in my head.

I got this suede moto from NAS and I've been wearing it almost nonstop since it showed up. It's soft and fluid and feels like a cozy cardigan. It's made me wonder if suede is the answer to effortless feeling leather for me.

No. Too constricting of arm movement. I'd wear a leather vest but not anything with leather sleeves. I guess something with leather body and fabric sleeves would be OK too. But I have very low tolerance for having my arm movement constricted when I'm indoors.

Veeeerrry thin suede, maybe.

Can and do! Only my really lightweight ones, though; the heavier, bordering-on-light-outerwear ones get taken off because they're usually much stiffer.

ALL THE TIME. Wouldn't think twice about it. Wear all my leather jackets indoors (but not at home). None of them are thick like the Mackage one you just bought. Different item all together.

Yes. But it depends on the style and the weight of the leather.

I wear my blue moto inside -- it's really soft and lined in cotton and moves easiely.

I wear my blush Danier moto in a restaurant and in shops or a classroom and similar, but not at home.

I have not been wearing my taupe Danier blazer that often in the past year or so but I did wear it indoors.

The white Danier washed leather jacket I wore less often indoors. Something about the leather's texture makes it feel like an outdoor jacket to me, even though it's not super heavy. The heavier and thicker the leather the less likely I am to wear inside.

I actually have TWO Mackage leather jackets. One is lightweight, see picture, and one is heavy, that I got at NAS, see finds.

As *traci* says, I felt a bit conspicuous in the lightweight leather jacket indoors. (I wouldn't wear the heavyweight one indoors.)

I think the problem was the styling...I always wore it with a thin sweater and scarf. I think I should try *lisap*'s suggestion and wear it with a blouse.

I don't think the constriction bothers me *Diana* but I can see how that would prevent you from wearing it inside.

*Traci*, I agree that the suede does seem more "indoors".
I wonder also I I have some issues with the hardware or maybe black colour.

Since *Angie* wears her Motos indoors, I am too. I'll try some different stylings.

No, I wouldn't.
I imagine Angie whirls around a department store or gets in and out of boutiques all the time, and this kind of topper makes complete sense to me in that context (the gilet, idem).
I slouch on an office chair, and this kind of indoors/outdoors mixed topper makes me feel like I've not taken my coat off.

What Isabelle said is dead right, Smittie. I also will keep my leather jacket on in a restaurant NO PROBLEM, or at a friends house if it's cold. I do not wear them inside of my own home though.

I'm with Skylurker. As a desk jockey, I learned from experience that they end up off within an hour of being in my desk. Usually less.

I do sit at a desk, and that might be the problem. An office is kind of like a little room in your house..come to think of it, I will often slip my shoes off at my desk for comfort.

I wear mine to work and keep it on all day. My classroom can get quite cold and I have to rush oUT to do stuff. I think I need another one...I'm so attached to my black one

Currently, I treat my leather jackets as outerwear. But, if I had an office to go to I would most definitely keep them on as long as they weren't bulky. Plus, I run cold.

Skylurker makes an excellent point.

I also don't wear my leather jackets at home. Nor will I wear the new gilet at home inside (or not very often). Ditto my blazers, although occasionally I will leave one of those on if I'm chilly and I'll be going out again soon and I'm not planning to cook something.

I wear them indoors outside the house, and the more I'm going to be going inside and out a lot the more likely I am to leave them on.

They're great when you're travelling and doing sightseeing for this reason.

I have the Eileen Fisher leather moto jacket and I wear it indoors--in restaurants and other people's homes--and outdoors. I bought it with the intention of wearing it indoors and have never felt "rude" or bulky keeping it on.
