Laughing Off My Cropped White Jeans Search

Because that's what you have to do instead of getting frustrated

I've ordered in another 6 pairs of cropped white jeans, and the same story. Fit okay, but don't like the fabric. Too soft, stretchy and thin. Too tight on my calves - which is quite the accomplishment actually, since I have narrow calves.

I then ordered in some white culottes to prevent the body con vibe - but the fabric was still thin, soft and stretchy. I want thick, crisp, and not too tight.

I'm being very picky because I have two old pairs of perfect cropped white jeans, and won't settle. See Finds. (I WISH I HAD DUPLICATED THEM.) So I'm laughing it off and walking away. Relaxing into it is key, and they'll probably turn up when I'm not looking for them.

I've done sooooo well with Summer dresses, swimwear and footwear already, that I feel I can't be greedy. Onward we go.

I've been running into these very same issues trying to replace a pair of black jeans. Jeans really try my patience -- I have to get better at this laughter approach of yours.

But it’s ok: you’ll still be able to get dressed, and it will give you a greater incentive to wear your other clothes.

Like La Ped, I have had the same issue with black jeans, which I’ve been looking for going on several years. All the black skinnies available seem to be made of stretch twill, NOT denim. In fact I’m sitting here test-wearing such a pair right now. I may end up compromising on fabrication, since the low rise I need is so hard to find at the moment.

Your mother lode of excellent dresses can take some of the pressure off your white jeans while you wait for the perfect replacements to materialize!

Goodness, if a hunt for jeans that skim the calves is a hard thing for you, what hope do most of the rest of us have?! Seriously, I'm glad I'm not on the hunt for white jeans because I'm a much harder fit than you are! I would probably be despairing a lot more than laughing because trying jeans can already be demoralizing for me.

I'm pretty tired of calf-hugging jeans and retailers really don't seem to have broken out of the skinny, distressed rut. In the meantime, I'm DIYing some old jeans to make them more wearable and more current. I released the hems and split the side seams to make a vent in an OLD pair of black Kut jeans that I've had for 7-8 years but don't wear anymore. I wore them the very next day!

Same here. I have legs like long pipe cleaners so I don't need anything skin tight to draw attention to that element. Or jeggings, who thought up that word.

Check Ebay - there are a couple of pairs of the Current Elliott in several smaller' sizes in white. That's where I got my white Kut flares that I lemming'd you on.

I may be joining you in a white crop jeans hunt. I have two pair of old white jeans. Have not tried them on lately and have lost a little weight, so they may be butt baggy. Before giving up on them though, since white jeans are the hardest to find, I may try to shrink a pair. This may be a dumb idea.

I don’t know why they cannot make jeans and pants with decent width for the calves. I am always pulling down the legs of my pants at work and it’s worse with the shorter hems because once the get tangled on your calves they show too much of the leg and look very unpolished.

Sorry Angie. You know I hate pseudo denim stretchy stuff and I hate jeggings. If I'm wearing leggings I want them smooth and my butt covered. If I'm wearing jeans I want real honest to goodness jeans. So frustrating. We need a real denim support group!!

UmmLila, I looked at those jeans but they don’t look optical white. More Is that an accurate assessment? ETA: all sold out.

They’re more like chalk than optical white anyway. So, just as well you didn’t find your size. But not calf sucking.
