Navel gazing: My style desires seem to shift with my environment, usually counter to the usual for that environment. When I was living a rural lifestyle full time and associating with very conservative friends (long hair, long skirts, beautiful and with their own style), I was the outlier with my pixie cut and often more saturated colors than their usual earth-toned hues. Now that I'm out of the countryside as a student studying medieval philology in a department surrounded by men and hard-edged women (love both groups, don't get me wrong), I seem to be craving a softer, pretty look for myself

Part of this may be that I tend towards boho-lite in the summertime, anyway. I'm having fun with longer hair (though my styling skills are abysmal and I'm sure I'll go back to pixie at some point). I went on a bit of a shopping spree this weekend and hope to receive feedback on some K/Rs. The things need to be 8s or up to keep as I tend to choose a select few pieces for the season and wear them to rags.

Both of these I picked up at LOFT. I was going to stay away from the kick crops for now, but I liked this pair, especially in the slate blue - what do you think? I could use some alterations to cinch in the waist (not likely to happen), but I doubt a size down would have accomodated my thighs.

The top is a petite because nothing close to my size was available in regular. Does the length make this a skirt-only top, or is it okay with the crops?

Thanks, and I look forward to any suggestions!

PS The specs hunt is on hold - still considering the teal pair but not sure I want to lay down the investment for a strictly ornamental piece.
