K/R leather moto want to wear today with denim shorts.

Happy Easter & belated Passover everyone!

Please excuse my absence from the forum lately. I have had a lot of life stuff.

I have wanted one of these for a long time. I have a black similar one & a taupe hip length cleaner lines, vertical opening one. I'm not sure if my style has changed since first wanting one or it is just that I lost weight & moved so had to purge a lot of my old clothes. My tastes are eclectic. I like boho as well as modern graphic urban styles. I like Kate Moss style & though she wears black leather more there is a pic of her in a cognac one.

Does it fit? Is it dated? Not motos in general but this fit & RATE boho vibe? Are the shoulders weird. I've pinned some here.

2nd & 3rd last pics are leather jackets I own. Do I even need a saddle one? I thought I did in the past when black didn't feel right or taupe one was too smart or wrong color for saddle boots. This leather is old & uneven looking like my Frye campus boots. I like that.

Last pic you might want to link to the "too young" & "aging" thread as this look might fit both. I'm not trying to be sexy or to look younger but maybe trying to hang on to a Southern California rock festival lifestyle.

I think the jacket looks like a good fit and I like the shoulders. I can't speak to look being dated or not, I don't know. It's kind of classic boho/RATE as you say. In terms of the color, it looks good with your tall boots but are there other outfits you would wear it with that it's a better color or style fit than your taupe one?

I think it looks cute with the shorts -classic boho, and looks good on you. Different shoes might make it read differently.

Hmmm. you look so smashing in the black and taupe jackets - I would be reaching for either one of those before picking the cognac one. The cognac one does fit you well, but it seems a different direction style wise for you - is that where you are heading?

I don't see dated -- it looks kind of boho to me, but not overly so. The color is nice -- I'm always attracted to that color but I'm never sure it's the best on me, so I keep passing on it (I have enough jackets anyway, in colors I do know I wear well!). The fit looks nice.

I can see the California rock festival vibe you're going for. You've got great legs so I don't see any problem rocking that look.

You look great in the jacket and I know it appeals to the boho side of your style. If there's room in the budget and you'll enjoy wearing it, keep. Oh - and the other issue -- weather. Will you get enough wears to justify it , and all. Only you can answer that one.

Well I love it. And since you have those fab cognac boots, a jacket to bookend is a must. I even like it with the shorts; knowing the area, you will not look out of place.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure where my style is going these days. Fashion has not been my focus. It is just that I knew I wanted one. Rae it is from Zara & has a cotton lining, which I know is important to you in a jacket.

I have a leather jacket from Zara and LOVE it. I like this one too. Not dated at all. It looks like a classic style tool, especially suited for S. California where you can wear a leather jacket 12 months out of the year.

I've missed you and wondered about your well-being. It's really nice to see you post, and I hope to be able to come back down to S. California before too long.

You look really good in those shorts. The older I get, the more forgiving I feel of any "rules." I am trying not to be so worried, whether something ages me or not. I am aging, there is nothing I can do to stop that. Sometimes I am going to look even older than my present age. When I am tired in particular. I know I cannot entirely fight social norms, where youth gives you more status than age, so I am trying to have the attitude of, does this make me looking interesting or chic.

The jacket looks classic and incredibly flattering. There's nothing about it or any of your other examples that make it seem like you are attempting to look younger (or older for that matter) than you are.

It's chic at any age and looks it, imho. I live in SoCal as well and wear my leather motos and bomber jackets all year long. So I suspect this jacket could easily get lots of wear in rotation with your other ones. I say absolutely keep it!
