Too big? I’m inclined to return this as I normally size down in oversized items but XXS was not available. Also, I wonder how FARM Rio stuff holds up or if it looks sad quickly. I included more photos than usual—probably as a sign of my insecurity since the price point is higher than my usual.

I love their patterns and pattern mixes! It's such a fun piece. And would be a really great addition for you.

But....to my eye, this does look "too big" vs. intentionally oversized. Or at least it looks off-scale, somehow. Sleeves, especially.

And....while I have not owned any of their knits, I was not super impressed with the quality of those I have seen in store. They do have the look of something that is not going to last (at least those I saw).

Angie ordered something from them at NAS and ended up not keeping. I can't recall if it was a knit or a woven, but perhaps she will have insight.

On a more positive note, knowing you, you'll be able to recreate a version of this entirely on your own from your closet -- mixing a bold black and white print with a boldly coloured print in your outfit.

Not familiar with the brand. What is the fibre content? Agree with Suz that it looks too large, and not just oversized.

I think the cardi is a fun statement piece and you style it well. That being said, if you feels some insecurity it may be wise to heed your internal signal and wait for something that gives a solid boost of confidence.

I have one Farm Rio dress and one skirt. The quality of the dress is average. The dress is such a statement piece that while I have received compliments when I have worn it, I feel like I can’t wear it too often. At the price point, I would prefer buying items I can wear more frequently.

The quality and fit of the skirt was disappointing, but it was final sale. It is a voluminous skirt with a bold print, and I have never worn it. It is packed away in a plastic bin waiting to be re-homed.

I like the fit. I would try it with less chunky turtleneck but I think it looks intentionally oversized. As fo sleeves, they are often too long on petite people whatever the fit of a garment. I would keep the cardigan.

I ordered a Farm Rio sweater a year or two. I thought the quality seemed fine, but of course, quality in knitwear is hard to determine until after a few wears. I returned it because of the style detail I hadn’t noticed: a drop shoulder with a puffed sleeve. In fact, the picture doesn’t show it. If it had had a sleeve like yours, I would have kept it. I loved the pattern and colors.

I like it on you, and I think you could really rock it. Really cool sweater, and it's a great style and colors for you. The sleeves look too long, but it looks like that can be remedied by fully cuffing (i.e., turning it back right at the point where it joins the sleeve).

All that said, if it isn't the fit and look you were going for, it won't make for happy wearing. If I'm paying more than my usual for something, I like to feel I really love it, and that it's worth the splurge.

@Runcarla: The fabric content is 65% acrylic, 25% polymide, and 10% wool. The acrylic part has me worried.

I bought this as a retirement gift to myself; last day of work is Monday!!! Reviews complained about it being too short which meant the length would be fine on me. But I also feel like it poofs out. If I ever found it in XXS I might get it since I adore the print and colors. (Believe it or not, I really love the way Elsbeth Tascioni dresses in the series *Elsbeth*).

Farm Rio makes some fun prints but unfortunately I have never tried them so I don’t know their quality. I like how you’ve styled it here and I can see this print working well with your wardrobe. I also like the oversized fit and don’t mind extra bulk around the wrist. It looks like a keeper to me but how a person feels about an item is very important.

Do you love it? Are you excited to wear it? If those are not 100% yes answers then I’d say return it. Higher priced items must be a solid yes to keep, because you will want it to be something you’re happy to wear again and again and again, with no doubts about fit, quality, material, fabric, color, comfort, and ease to incorporate into your wardrobe.

This is very you. Acrylics are not equal. Some are soft and wash well while others are itchy. The polymide component should help it keep it's shape. I think it will be a gamble.

I love love love this particular Farm Rio sweater, and I also think it is too big on you. But I think it would be a great buy if you can get a size you are comfortable with. And congratulations on your retirement!

Love the look but the high acrylic content gives me pause. It does look big but that doesn't bother me as much as the fabric content. I would try to scrunch up the sleeves. And congratulations on retirement!

It’s a cool sweater, but it does seem a bit big and I see you are having hesitations in this regard. Will you be happy wearing it this way? If so, then keep it, if not, then I’d return it. This is your special retirement gift to yourself, so it should be exactly what you’ve hoped for.

It’s really fun, and I like the oversized length…but how are the sleeves working for you? Do you ever scrunch up your sleeves? They do seem quite long. I feel like that is the thing that makes it look a little overwhelming, not the length which is actually really cute on you.
