Apologies for the terrible lighting and bedhead; I'm helping to empty out a relative's home, as she's just moved into assisted living...

I picked up these two Pure Collection cashmeres on deep discount. It's been a long time since I had any 100% cashmere, thanks to baby-raising. I made it through last winter with just two merino layering sweaters, so I definitely need more cozy, layerable knitwear for next fall/winter.

I really love the striped one and I think I prefer the fit -- slightly more relaxed in the shoulders/sleeves and a bit of extra length. I'm a real sucker for ombre patterns but not sure if the V-neck looks as good. It's more fitted all over than the crewneck, and a bit shorter. I don't think the next size up is available to compare.

What do you all think? (I'm not sure this even constitutes out of season shopping for me -- it's cold enough here that I might cut the tags on the striped one and wear it out to dinner tonight!)

I definitely like the stripe -- and you can wear it now, with this cold weather. The ombre I am not sure about, mostly because the photo is dark.

BIG thumbs up on the stripes - so cute on you! The ombre is lovely too, but feels definitely more autumn/fall - so if you have some cooler-weather looks you think you can integrate it into, may be worth hanging on to.

I like them both on you. If you can swing it, I'd get both since you said they're a good deal. So great to have some new items for the fall ready to go. ( And for this ridiculous Spring, too, here in the Northeast!)

The striped jumper is brilliant!! It's a little hard to see the ombré one, but I'm thinking a fitted style could work as a layering piece under blazers, denim jackets, leather jackets etc.?

Given that they are cashmere at a good price + they fit you well I'd say they will not go astray in your wardrobe, as long as you can work them into your existing wardrobe.

I vote keep both. Sometimes you feel like fitted, sometimes you don't.

Another vote for keeping them both ... but only if that makes financial sense. If not, I vote keep the stripped.

It's a bit harder to tell with the ombre one because it's darker and harder to see as well, but I like it. I think the striped one is fun! Both look like keepers to me

I like both of them on you. They look like a good fit. I'm a sucker for ombre, too, so I am especially drawn to that one.

The striped one is great for spring (or summer?!) when it's supposed to be warm, but it's not, and you want to wear bright colors!

I think those are both super! And I like the hair, too!

I like both. They have different looks so it depends on what you want. The striped is more springy and the ombre is more fall but you could wear them in any cooler weather. I would keep both if finances allowed.

I wore my puffer to walk my dog last night. Cashmere sweaters seem about right for this time of year.

I love the ombre one on you the most, but both are lovely, the striped one is lovely for spring. The ombre one looks more dressy to me and would work well with jeans, pants and skirts.

You are so petite, and both of these look good on you. The "v" in the v-neck is high enough to fall nicely and give you a nice decolletage look.

Thanks all, especially for putting up with my dark photos (we have power off in this house, since it's uninhabited, but it's the only house on the property with a full-size mirror)! I'm definitely leaning toward keeping both -- glad the v-neck looks good to others' eyes. It's a nice length for higher-rise pants, too.

I'm glad the hair looks good. I've been meaning to do a hair post for ~6 weeks -- it's pretty much time to trim it again!
