I went back and looked at my shadow style answer (!) My answer was *Frilly Girl.* That's not, when I think about it, so far removed from my answer today. But I note I've gone farther afield.

since we're in imaginary land, i would go for uber-prep. but not the manufactured prep of tommy hilfiger or even ralph (tho that would be closer). i'm thinking lilly or anything with rickrack or a whale. madras minis and boat shoes older than the average college student. mummy's charm bracelet and nan's pearls while traipsing around smith in hanro cotton nightgowns.

just call me muffy.

No real period for me, only a tuxedo, cocktails & soirees all the way. Elegant living.

Second would be the 60s but I did that already

Caro, you're a scream.

Hi five, Joy!

Elle, you look a little like Victoria Beckham! I can see you wear her style

Suz! Boho! That surprises me! But fun to read - although it was long ago.

Twenties flapper comes to mind. Hats, dropped waist dresses, short hair, long beaded necklaces!

Thanks for the link Suz! The term Shadow Style never occured to me, I like it.
Funny how your shadow style idea has changedover the last year Suz, but your answer shows that you are happy in the skin you're in.
Elle thanks for the pics of VB. She has a very elegant style.
Joy I see another vote for the 60's.
Astrid, yes you're right you choice this time found is do-able for you
Rachy, father afield as in back in time, you could so rock that look.
Bj, I love your answer, your description conjours up a fab picture!
Caro, I would love to join you in you soirees. Mines a tequila sunrise, 'chin chin'!
Shevia I love the idea of flappers!, I love that era. So elegant. We had a TV series in the UK years ago called 'House of Elliot' set in that era. It was about a fashion house and I loved it!
