Thanks, ladies! You are all very kind.

Sveta, I'll happily purchase a casual maxi and hack it to a midi

I LOVE my skinnies and straight legs (tapered legs are my best because I'm such an '80s gal). And you can't not wear them in Seattle because the style is too practical for our grotty wet weather.

That said, I am having a very slight allergic reaction to clothes that are overly form fitting (not tailored and fitted, just overly form fitting) - on everyone. On me, forum members, bloggers, street style passersby and models. I am moving in the other direction for style salvation.

DeniseP, rest assured I always have fun with fashion

I love this rebellious side of you, Angie. The need for some heel height when sporting wide legged pants must explain why I love skinnies and straight legs. Like you, the highest heel for me is going to be under 2 inches but I prefer flats. I do have a pair of wide white leg trousers and some wedges that I should wear before the summer is over. I love the look, actually, just have been kind of lazy. You have inspired me today. Thanks for that.

Like everyone else I can't wait to see the new flares. Stumpy seems impossible when I look at you!

Rules are meant to be broken! I cannot wait to see your new wide legs.

Cannot wait to see!

Rule #1- have fun
I cant wait to see you rock a wide leg jean/trouser!

This is very exciting news and I can't wait to see how you wear your trousers and shoes. I love trousers worn like men wear them with a comfortable walking type of shoe. Go Angie!

Interesting observation re: form fitting. I just gave all of my form fitting tops away to a more petite than I (and much younger) co-worker. I am allergic to this look for a very specific reason: I just don't feel comfortable in this look at my age of 54. As you know I am not afraid of trendy silhouettes but I just. can't. do. sexy any more and no matter how you slice it, very form fitting is very sexy to my eye. I am even moving away from form fitting bottoms but this is very difficult because I am so tempted by all of the great skinny jeans that continue to come out. Form fitting looks great on younger women and I embraced form-fitting well into my 40s, past your age Angie (and got the male attention from it that I must have subliminally been desiring after my divorce at age 44).

I love to watch your style evolve Angie and espeically love how you are not afraid to do a u-turn on a look. I am excited to see your new pieces in action.

I can't wait to see this look with lower heels. I just can't do high heels. Over 2 inches and I am done for.

Rules are made to be broken.

I'm excited that you are joining Team wide-legged trousers;-)
I'm also in a very Dietrich/Katherine Hepburn menswear kind of mood, and am looking forward to seeing your wide-legged trouser outfits with lower heels. I'll be taking notes.

You rebel, you!

You've gotten me feeling allergic to anything form-fitting, too. Look what you've done!! Loose just feels fresher. And on top of it, with the heat we're experiencing (100 degrees AGAIN today), I can wear loose, rolled-up jeans -- but there's no way I could wear skinnies!

Thanks, ladies

Denise, are you giving up your very form fitting skinnies? You have about a million pairs of them.

High five Sandy and Inge!

Jules, you are as sweet as ever.

Laura, I take full responsibility.

It's always fun to try something new and I can't wait to see your new pants and how you style them!

How exciting! You know I'm all over this type of pant, and I have been wanting a pair in a wool weight for winter (for the um... 3 days.. we don't get rain) for a looooong time. Hoping since it's a trouser season I'll finally get them, and I also plan to hem for "low heels" for me (which is 1.5-2" somewhere). I can't WAIT to see yours, Angie!!
