Well, I have fun with what I wear and there certainly are people on here who think I look clownish and silly—see recent references to Tokyo style and the ongoing series of comments from people claiming I have no rules*. But at the end of the day, I know there will always be people who don’t like me or what I do, and others who do, here as out in the world. Irl, making a work-appropriate impression at work matters, but otherwise we are free to let our vibes attract our “tribes”. Wear your jumpsuits! Enjoy them! Enjoy your life with new friends you’ll meet and old friends who come to visit!
*not saying my style is impeccable—it certainly is not. I have posted plenty of outfits that aren’t outright winners and appreciate suggestions for improvement. There were at least 2 clunkers in my latest WIW, both in “my” berry colors. But noting that things are sometimes off is one thing; not recognizing any sort of pattern in the dots is another (& of course, if you don’t see the sequence, you can’t predict/suggest the next step or say what doesn’t fit). I’m still trying to figure what this means. Other people do see consistent colors, styles and rules in pieces I’ve collected over decades, even if I’m juxtaposing them in new, cheekier ways. It’s an interesting puzzle, but that’s psychology, not fashion.
