Pass the smelling salts....

WOWEEE!

This is spectacular! I don't think you could possibly have found a better jacket than this. So, so exciting, and it looks *amazing* on you...

I didn't hit my head (yet), but you'd better pass the smelling salts over here again, just in case.

Big huge smiles over here, because it's SO gorgeous on you. Just WOW !!!

I have to admit I like what I hear so far! I love the idea of wearing it the French way... maybe with a cami for starters, lol.

Julie, as if there was any other way to wear this baby than with some boots!

From the leather experts, it sounds like it will stretch (if at all, as it is lined) where there is resistance, which is in the upper arms - you can sort of see the pulling in the pictures. NBD if that stretches out. NBD if it doesn't. I like how it looks closed the best, so I guess it's better to err on the side of being able to zip it up.

Laughing, smiling, and sorry for all the head injuries! O_O

Just chiming in to add my love for you in that jacket!

yup, keep. nice details on that jacket....

That jacket is fantastic. In fact the whole outfit is fantastic!

In a word: P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

FWIW, I have a cotton-lined one that is snug in the upper arms --- it hasn't stretched in the last 5 years.

Rae that jacket is awesome!
Do you think it will stretch? It is perfect as is but ah, all of my leather jackets have stretched so much, I will only buy them" painted on" from now on...ETA: I just saw your answer above, it's all systems go then. Gorgeous color on you.

LOVE it. I have no experience with leather jackets but think the fit on this is excellent as is.

Rae, this is what they call 'hitting the jackpot'! Wow wow wow!

Rae, wow! LOVE it on you! That's a real beauty.

Looks GORGEOUS, Rae (but you're a great clothes horse too! :-))

Forget all I said about down-sizing. This one is quite slim enough to wear the way I suggested. It's already beautifully form-fitting. A great buy!! And do you know what? I find my tobacco-coloured one (similar cut and colour to yours) more versatile than my black biker. Cos tan shades look great worn with black, and the look is softer than an all-black ensemble. Well done, and many happy wearing years (it'll get better and better. Do you know that the great Inès de la Fressange swears she always puts her new leather jackets under her mattress and sleeps on them for a few days to soften them up, and age them a bit?? LOL!)

The sleeves are too long - what are you going to do about them? Can you roll and scrunch? Tailoring leather is super expensive.

La Francaise and Zap, I am very glad to see you both approve and grateful for the wisdom on lamb leather. Very interesting about the mattress - it is similar to a motorcyclist wearing heavy leathers in the rain, I think.

Rita, I went and looked - as I have been trying it on, the leather seems to be "remembering" the elbow creases, taking the sleeves up a bit. I think it will be okay. I may just scrunch anyway because I like the look. Thank you for noticing that!

Rae, I have no leather experience, but just wanted to tell you how *stunning* you look in that jacket! Just...wow!

Thanks for the tidbit about sleeve length...the NAS one I just bought is also a tad long in the sleeve...I'll have to see if the elbow creases hold.

OMG, this is truly stunning on you, Rae! Just LOVE it!

I think it is safe to say I'm keeping this puppy! Many thanks to everyone who chimed in with an opinion or words of wisdom for this new-leather newbie. I think this jacket may end up being more versatile than either my black or chocolate brown versions.

Oh yeah. That is sweet on you! No, do not size down. Looks just right!

Wow, just saw this thread now. I know you've already decided to keep it but that jacket is stunning on you. Just fantastic.

It looks fab! Like Rita, I was wondering about the sleeve length, but if they scrunch up a bit, that will do the trick, I'll bet.

Glad you are not sizing down - shoulder movement in leather jackets is important, and while it will give and conform, it will not stretch much (like a shoe would) because of the lining. It will only get more perfect with age and use.

My word. This is one of the prettiest leather jackets I think I've ever seen. :O

Yay! It must the week of finding great leather jackets.

I think the fit is perfect as is, Rae.
