ISO of low heel mid shaft boot

I ordered the boot below . Not sure what I was thinking . The heel is for my fantasy life.and not my casual one. The boots were lovely but I was stern with myself returned them. ( that was a first, thank you YLF ).
I cannot seem to find a low heel mid shaft boot to wear with all my cropped jeans and pants this fall and winter. I have skinny ankles and calves which seems to complicate matters. I also need to be comfortable so a block heel of about 2 inches is my limit.
Any suggestions ?

Are you looking for a specific colour, Gail?

Did you check the NAS booties?

There are also some other Topshop options that might work...I collected the one below in red but it comes in other colours as well I believe.

I think we'll be seeing more of these as the month continues -- not all have been released for the fall, I suspect.

No suggestions but I have the same problem and need an even lower heel. Also, many of the high shafts rub painfully on prominent ankle bones, especially those with a side zipper. I'll be watching this thread for ideas. My most comfortable low heel-high shaft boot is an older suede LeCannadienne pair.

Gail, this has been a very tough thing to find. I'm hoping (and praying) that as the fall/winter boots start rolling in, there will be some options as you describe -- low healed, high shaft booties that will fit snug around skinny ankles and calves. Please, shoe manufacturers, hear our cry!!!! And, as Suz mentioned, I would keep a close eye on Topshop as they tend to have the idea! Let us know if you find one!

@ Suz I was hoping for a tan color which bookends my hair and I can wear with a lot of outfits. The Aquatalia ones like you have I love but I think that the shaft is too low for what I want. I am going to look at the other Topshop ones you posted.
The Soft Spots one , the shaft again is lower than I am looking for.

I've been looking around for a mid-shaft, low-heeled boot too, and not seeing a lot of options this year so far.

It's early yet. We haven't seen everything.

I think that Topshop will have some more and it's also worth looking at Zara. Often the heels are too high, but not always.

Joy, look for chelsea boots with elastic gores. They will work!

The shaft on the Aquatalias is not as high as on those Topshops so wouldn't work to close the gap for culottes, for instance -- but it is higher (on my short calves) than I expected and definitely gives the "higher shaft bootie" effect.

You are right that these are hard to find, especially if you need a lower heel.
If you like the look, perhaps a lace-up bootie is worth considering (to help with the fit on the ankle and calf).

As Suz pointed out, it's very early in the season, so hopefully some good options will still turn up.

Another option -- depending how you want to wear them - is a snug fitting knee high boot. If you are planning to "close the gap" completely with cropped pants or culottes or midi skirts, then that would work equally well. If you want to bare some leg, obviously it would not work.

How do you feel about lace ups? If you're open to laces I feel like that opens up your options. Also, how low of a heel do you need?

Have a look at these Fryes, I have them from last year. They're two inch heel and tall shaft (8") and very comfy for fussy feet. They look much better IRL, really, and work with even my shortest cropped jeans. The ankle is very fitted.

This is not a really low heel but these Harley-Davidson boots are supercomfy, and they have a tall narrow fit. Also extremely durable - two friends have bought them because of trying on mine.

Just offering commiseration. I'm having the same issue, particularly where a bootie looks promising in smaller sizes but after getting up to my size 8 the shaft opening is far too wide. Have tried and returned many many pairs!

I have no advice but some commiseration. The higher shaft bootie is a trend that seems to have started with sky-high heels (I was seeing >3" at first) and is sloooowly coming down. I too have slim ankles and my feet are also small enough to be sized out of many fast fashion brands (Zara, Topshop unless I order from the UK directly). Take a month off and then look again, maybe.

Also the fitted shaft/sock boot look seems to only be for 3" and up heels! Why?!

Just wait til you get your Zara sock booties, Una.

The Aquatalias are somewhere in between -- not completely high and not completely fitted, but still looking like that, and heel of 2 inches or so.

Suz- Yes I could try some tall boots but I actually have same issue as I have 12/13 inch calves. I tried on some that I have and they stick out in a weird way under my jeans so you can see them. I don't have any that are are perfect on me apart from a BCBG pair with a stilletto heel that I had altered years ago.

Una- I like the Harley Davidson boots but I am looking for something a little plainer with no buckles etc.

Crackers- I may order the Fryes as they look like a posibilty a 2 inch heel is my limit for everyday and that may be pushing it.

Traci and Inge- I would prefer a small heel and I find that the lace up boots look weird on me. I tried a pair last year but gave them to my daughter.

I like the Sam Edelman Raylan boot and may order that also but would prefer tan color. I'm hopeful that more boots will come over the next month or so there will be more to look at.

Paul Green has some lovely options. The ones in my find are from last year. Zappos and Amazon may still have them. PG had several similar styles.
