Wow - lots of help here - and it's SO appreciated! Sorry for not getting on this last night . Long day at work and I'm at it again today . Gym is back open again after another 7 week closure and it's SO busy! I'm running the membership services desk alone this week and between anti maskers and anti vaccers - it's never all dull moment.

Thanks Inge for your skilled help here. I completely forgot about Gravity Pope - and they are Canadian ! Two of your suggestions there, plus a Clarks style are my top picks that tick all my boxes. We can't order from the Nordstrom.com site in Canada, and some of the higher end brands get VERY expensive when converted to Cdn dollars (Vince, Rag& Bone etc). These 3 styles above are the perfect look and are at the perfect price point!

I'm already covered for white soles, grommets and studs, more casual styles etc - so what I've picked are very minimal, almost dressy sandals. Will be ordering later today !

Looks like you might be covered, but your last description reminded me of my own dressy-ish black sandals, which are the Nisolo Serenas. I don't wear them much because they're a bit more polished than my norm, but they've been great to have in my back pocket, as it were, for certain events.

Oh, special love for that second Gravitypope pair. Simple yet not boring. Refined but not too dressy. Crossing fingers for you that one of these works (I have never had luck with Clarks, as I find them a little wide).

Of course all of these choices open up another opportunity ! I secretly like that closed toe fisherman style that bj1111 has linked to , and it's a look I'd enjoy trying . Also, Jenn, your find is intriguing.....at first daintier than I am looking for, but now that I think about it, it is so classically pretty that I could make good use of a style like that...

There really are so many choices, but like most of us, I have to work around a few foot issues that eliminate things like toe loops, thongs, super bare looks, plain mid-width straps across the big toe joint area , blah blah blah. I'm super excited to order tonight and will share my results soon!

Great choices! I especially like the second and third pairs (the Delora and the Clarks), but the most important thing, of course, is fit and feel. And FWIW, I also love fisherman style sandals. They're a tough look for me to get right - they can lean chunky or too covered, or not covered enough - but I love the option of a more closed-toe sandal in the summertime.
