If that is mom hair, I want some. It is fresh and polished and very flattering. If my hair weren't so fine and thin, I would shoot for something like this.

Thanks for the reminder to be better about keeping my hair neat and not wait too long between appointments (my re-embraced pixie is at 8 weeks and showing every minute) - I just asked and my hairdresser can squeeze me in tomorrow.

I love your hair cut and color. It looks gorgeous on you! I do think you can go shorter and it will still look gorgeous!

I love your hair. It looks great!

Your hair looks gorgeous! I have read that the bob is the cut to have in 2018.

Wow that cut looks beautiful on you! Polished yet not fussy and the color is gorgeous.

You look beautiful! Love it!

Not only is your cut incredibly flattering on you, but it seems authentically you. Some of your mom friends might be secretly envious now.

Thank you all for your kind, kind words. So nice to be back among this amazing and positive group!

Your hair looks perfect for this cut. I hope it turns out easy for you. Mine is about this length most of the time, a bit shorter after a cut. I swear by a big1"-1.5" hot roller brush for a quick shaping if needed, or a quick lift and smooth with the flat iron. Different looks but having different looks can be fun. DDIL does great little braids on the side in front or a French braid diagonally across her head with the same length straight hair.

Thanks for the tips Joy!

TG, I love your haircut! And, I think you could go shorter too.

I can completely relate to mom-hair anxiety. As a short-hair person for decades, that fear crops up ALL THE TIME. But for a variety of reasons I can't grow my hair out, and the main reason is, every time I start to let it grow I feel less like me. Mom-hair be damned.

Following your inner voice to do what's right for you is always the best way (although it can be hard) -- and really, from an objective bystander, what's right for you is absolutely beautiful.

Super! I LOVE this length. It is On-trend TG! Very polished, sleek and definitely YOU. It is not a severe bob, if that’s what you were afraid of.

I cut my hair this length a while back, but mine is PUFFY—not the right look

I can understand your reservations about going shorter, but your new bob is absolutely gorgeous! You look very chic and polished.

JackieC - so lovely to see you!

Looks great and stylish!

You look great! I love the honest thoughts, but I guarantee some of the other moms are checking you out thinking, boy I wish I were stylish like her.

Fabulously cut- you have the hair and bond structure for this! I agree you could even go s tag shirter but you’ll know more about that after “ living with” this length- how it moves and ease of styong, because sometimes you need enough length and weight for it to work.
You look very young to me!

Gosh TG - I must be completely honest. If you are not the prettiest one of your friends then I'm gobsmacked. There are so many wonderful women on this forum that I consider really beautiful. I'm not beautiful. When you make, collectively, negative comments I'm just speechless. Just proving comparison is deadly. Your haircut is fantastic. You are young, elegant, and stylish with a warmth, intelligence, kindness and humor that comes through in all your posts. So please look again and see the beautiful reflection the rest of us see. Honestly I'd love to be as pretty as you!!

I think the new cut is beautiful! It reminds me of actress Teri Hatcher's 'do when she was on the Superman TV series. Talk about stylish!

I've been thinking of getting mine chopped as well. I can identify with feeling like you have to "keep up" with women who have long, beautiful hair. The problem is, my hair doesn't look all that amazing at a longer length. I need to just accept that and move on.

Viva, your comment about hair at a certain length making you feel less like yourself really resonated with me! I've had my hair pretty short for most of my life, and in the past couple of years, I've decided to let it grow for the first time. At first it was great, but I have found that once it gets past my shoulders, it decidedly no longer feels like "me." Time to schedule a chop!

I loved having long hair, especially when I was still running. It was, in many ways, easier than short hair with options for a quick ponytail, french braid etc. I cut to chin length a few years ago, though, and haven't regretted it.

Here's a thought -it's the women in the cohort with uniform long hair who have the Mom hair....the clinging-to-passing-youth-even-though-we're-well into-our-motherhood-period style. You have taken the step forward to modern style, a professional casual look. And I don't think "short" when I look at your cut, by the way. I just think "gorgeous".
