Maybe she is saying be more relaxed about it, yes. The women in the let’s say under-35 group, or maybe even those in their 20s, do seem to have so much pressure from these trends especially Instagram and TikTok. I am generalising hugely of course. When I was in those years 30-35 myself having the 3 children and not feeling what was fashionable much I wasn’t worried about it like the author seemed to be. I gradually became more interested again and did start to look for things, and it was more financial pressures at the time that kept my purchases constrained.
I have spent a huge amount of time thinking about my wardrobe since 2016 just before I joined this forum, and after. I don’t really think clothes have just “come to me” over that 8.5 years much. I have mostly looked for them carefully. The odd thing has “just come”, one beautiful top in a window end of 2020 with exactly the same green in as the 2016 sandals, which felt like that. I have worn it 75 times since. It was very expensive for a top though so not like your navy T-shirt experience.
