I'm leaning towards keeping both of these dresses.

More dresses - I need more casual dresses in my wardrobe.

I bought both of these during the Nordstrom triple points sale last month.

The black one is karen Kane. The jersey is substantial, and feels fantastic against my skin. I love the neckline, low and graceful enough to show some skin and feature my wide array of necklaces. With bracelet sleeves (well, three quarters, but everything is longer on me) I'm not sure it's a good choice for summer, but I'm really tempted to keep it for late summer and fall wear. Does it cling too much around my midsection?

The blue dress, with it's roomy fit aroundd the middle and it's sleevelessness, feels more suitable for summer. How does it look on me?

I was hoping to find more summery dresses, but I'm leary of prints for some reason I'm not quite sure of. I also prefer heavier fabrics right now.

Honest opinions on these two pieces welcome.

I love the first. The second is ballerina-on-break to me ... Casual, keeping the muscles warm. Don't known if you want that...esp in summer.

The sleeveless dress - (are you sure it's blue, btw?) - is a slam-dunk and perfect for the heat. I know you run VERY warm so it's a goodie. You look cute with your hair tied back too, Robin.

The long sleeved dress has great potential, although I can't see the fit all that well in the pic. Black is hard to photograph well, unfortunately. The dress clings to your curves in a good way Robin, and it's streamlining. YES, the fabric is sensational and I know the dress. You're wearing the right undies for the look too. It has an extremely pretty neckline - good job.

You need an unstructured shirt dress!!!

Your first one looks cool and summery, Robin, and since I posted after Angie, I wanted to add that I really like her suggestions, above, very much.

I have two similar denim shirt dresses, one in a medium navy and one in a soft charcoal black, and I adore the heck out of them for their comfort and polished look.

The first one looks really pretty on you, Robin. It is hard to tell about #2 but if it feels good, I say it is good.

I also love Angie's suggestion. I have a chambray dress that I enjoy wearing in the heat.

Rachy: No, I don't mind the ballerina on break look. If I could be a ballerina at work, that'd be even better. :p

Oh, and Angie: Thanks for the compliment on my hair. I get conflicting messages about whether it's attractive when pulled back.

So, it's settled. I'm keeping them both! I've got all kinds of styling ideas for the KK dress.

I personally would not feel at ease in the second because it's more bodycon. But that's up to you and your comfort level.

I love both dresses but wonder if the second will be too warm in the summer for you. I think the style of #2 can work if it is a little body con because it is black and so simple, if it is not constricting. How does it feel? And, again, the warmth thing.

But the first is fab on you, no question!

Viva: No, the black dress isn't constricting at all! The fabric is super-forgiving. I'll be keeping it, but will probably not wear it for high summer since I run so warm right now.
