Michelle, have you ever tried Naot or Birkenstocks? I have feet the polar opposite of you (flat, narrow, but also stupid. LOL). So I am hesitant to suggest anything. But these are two brands I turn to when I need supportive shoes. I find them more comfortable than my most comfortable sneakers.

I've added some finds:

The Birkenstock Pisa unisex sandal in navy. These are non-thong style and "fishermen" style which means they have a woven, strappy, cage look over the toes.. They are striking. I own them in white and the run wide.

Two pair of Naot sneakers. they do not come in wide so may be a nonstarter? both in a light blue suede, with perforation in the leather. The Kumara has a silver accent all around the sole. The Lalo has larger/more perforations and a cap toe.

Good luck! interested to see what you end up with.

Naots are fab.

I would get these SAS sneaks right away, Michelle - AND they come in a wide size. I have them in a narrow size (in white). AMAZING comfort, support, resilience, and look super cute too. I wear them all the time to travel and walk Sam. And with all sorts of urban outfits! Trendy and Modern Retro. I've duplicated. Also cute in blue. But not as crisp or fashionable as the white.

Thank you to all who weighed in! Great brand suggestions, and I will wind up revisiting much of this when I start my search for a white, office-level dressy, block--heel sandal. For now though, I have gone with Angie's suggestion and ordered the SAS sneaks in white. This is a new-to-me brand coming from a new-to-me Canadian online vendor, so we'll see how it all turns out, but I'll certainly let you all know!

More thanks, too, to those of you offering words of support during what will indeed be a difficult transition. You're all right, though -- at least my Revie will be well cared for.

Good luck Michelle!! Hope the shoes are fab for you

Thanks for clarifying about Reva, Michelle! Goodness, time does fly.

Not sure how you are set for accommodations while you're in the states, but if you need a place to spend a night or two, we're not far away in Connecticut.

Oh April, you are such a sweetheart! I will be staying on the guide dog school's campus (in reasonable comfort, at that), but I appreciate your offer so very much. Thank you. Ylfers are unmatched anywhere!
