It doesn't sound like you are crazy in love with the top. I vote keep looking unless you really do like it and will wear the h--k out of it. I like the style on you. Are you sure it is silk? or "silky" as in polyester?

Joy, both blouses are 100% silk.

And the Poetry:

I think you're right, though. This was too expensive not to be perfect.

Jenn, I like the look of the Poetry blouse. It looks pretty on its own and with the furry vest. I think it seems like a good blouse to mix with a lot of your wardrobe going into fall.
I've had static on silk before, too, on things I've made. Not sure why.

I like the blouse on you and I like how you have styled it. Great colour! But if the quality is not there then that is important.

Out of interest was the Garnet Hill one a richer colour than the Poetry one when it came?
I would prefer the GH colour one if it were me. But it's you, and I think the Poetry is nice on. It looks like it fits well and goes well with your faux fur vest.

I've had the same experience as KM with Garnet Hill refunding shipping after I've posted a review of a returned item. The CS who contacted me sounded genuinely thankful for feedback on fit.

Too bad the Poetry one isn't up to par quality-wise. The colour is gorgeous on you.

Sounds like Garnet Hill really missed the mark on the sizing of that top. I'm always mystified when that happens. I'm not sure how GH acquires their clothing, but there is zero consistency in sizing, body type they seem to work for, etc.
The staticky silk thing is maddening! I have one like that. It is from a company I like a lot. I probably have a half dozen of their tops - 2 others of the exact same style. All of them are great, except the solid navy one. It should be a workhorse, because it works style and color wise with practically every non-blue bottom in my closet - BUT it's a clingy mess? I wasn't as savvy as you, and didn't notice the problem until I cut the tags and wore it out of the house.
Really disappointed for you - at these kind of price points, getting two fails is a drag!

Ryce, you're absolutely right about GH sizing/fit models making no sense whatsoever. I mostly limit myself to shopping their outlet store in Franconia NH, because my catalogue orders have almost all resulted in returns. Love their home goods though! I have rugs, throw pillows, baskets, etc that I've been completely happy with.

JenniNZ, the tops were definitely different colors. The GH is a burnt orange, and the Poetry is a dark copper. I liked both colors, and either would work with my wardrobe, but the GH one was an absolute no-go. Have you ever gone to take a top off and had that moment where you're not sure it will go over your shoulders, and you might be stuck with it halfway off for the rest of your natural life? Yeah.

Ryce, good to know that the static problem might just stick around forever. That makes the decision easier.

LP, I keep at it because the winners I've gotten from them have been absolute workhorses. It's interesting that both you and KM received shipping refunds after posting reviews. That's worth a shot, even if it's not something to be expected.

Firecracker, I am too squeamish about the silk quality to keep, I think. The silk tunics I bought a few years ago looked great, but I kept them despite reservations about quality and regretted it when they developed runs and tears after 10-15 wears. Just not worth it.

Hi Jenn yes that experience of something getting stuck is especially bad in a changing room in a store! So embarrassing if you have to call the SA! I am not sure I've had to, but almost.
I am feeling sad for you about the tops Maybe in the meantime the weather is cooling down.
And I did love that burnt orange.

Jenni, I'm feeling a little sad about the tops, too, but I just ordered two more to try. I do see some cooler days on the horizon, but I had a bit of a realization that I'm missing having a few good transitional items in my closet. If I had to define our dominant season here, I'd say: swingy, so I depend on layers, which works pretty well most of the time, but not always!

Jenn, what am I missing? It's a blouse - not a tunic. Great colour on you.

Angie, you're right. On long-torsoed me, at least, it's a blouse. The Poetry product listing calls it a tunic, though. My issue was with the silk quality. It was scratchy and there were a couple of flaws in the weave that seemed like they might easily tear or run.

ETA: The orange GH top was a blouse, but I also ordered this tunic:

It looked shapeless and drab on me, and the front pockets fell oddly.
