I can see why you loved this outfit

The coat is amazing and you look so glamorous in it.

Not only is that coat DIVINE, as has been reiterated already, I adore the shoes and the tweed skirt and the braided belt --- beauties, all!

Sounds like you are sorted for the tweaking of proportions; but wanted to also throw out there the idea to add a cardigan (boyfriend style?) and belt over that. Would help with the 'crushed crispness' dilemma of untucking the shirt, perhaps?

Thank you all for your appreciation of "the coat". I have had it nearly 10 years with no plans anytime soon to retire it.

I am so happy that you all had such great suggestions. I will try the solutions and re-post within the next week or so. Repeating this outfit will save me time -- life has already resumed its normal hectic pace.

Day, I have noticed that you generally look so *terrific* in all the photos you post that you can allow yourself the occasional less-gloriuos outfit. And the coat is superb.

And I too am swooning over the coat. I am eager to see your re-style of this look.

Another coat lover here. I actually really like this whole outift. so polished and pretty.

I have nothing to add because I like and agree with Angie's great suggestion, to show a lower neckline. Too much of you is covered with this shirt buttoned all the way. It's amazing the difference a little skin can do to an outfit. JCrew does this all the time in their outfits by rolling up sleeves even if it's just a little to showcase the wrist or forearm. Pretty belt!

I was going to suggest wearing the belt a little lower on the hip, but seriously, when I read Angie's suggestion about opening up a button or two, I did a hand-face. Of. Course.

Still had to post though because that coat! That coat! DV, I looked at it and immediately thought, OMG she looks like a 20s starlet. Gorgeous and elegant. I know now why you didn't post it right away. You had to get us used to your incredible style first, easing us in a bit so that we didn't faint dead away upon seeing you in that coat!!! (I still think most of us are sporting bumps on our heads from fainting, though.)

K -- you are hilarious! Of course that was the point of my evil plot!
