They do. I have a really nice jacket from there that I bought last year.

Chicos does not seam to be a place people on here shop. I do not shop there much as I have trouble with the sizing. there sizes are something like 1, 2, 3, 4.. They also have a good selection of petites.

Most of the older women I know shop there, and some always look very fashionable and nice.

An older woman here but was sized out of Chicos for years until they started making smaller sizes...0, 00, and 0.5. Still most things have too much ornamentation for my taste. I did buy some Ponte pants there several years ago that have worn like iron but have never been in a dryer. You have to search out the stores that will carry the smaller sizes or ask that they order some for you to try. They once had a silver metallic denim jean jacket that I wanted desperately but the the smallest size it came in was a 1 ( 8-10).

Great suggestion. In the past, their sizing confused and intimidated me. But every single woman I know in real life that shops there dresses exceptionally beautifully!! I will give it another try.

It's even weirder than just 1, 2, 3, 4. It starts at 000 and goes to 4, with stops along the way for .5, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5. But since you can't rely on the number on the tag even with conventional sizing, it doesn't bother me. It's easy enough to check out their size chart online and find your "Chico's number."

Remembering the recent thread(s) about the lack of options in larger sizes, I'm surprised nobody mentioned Chico's. They go up to a conventional-size 20.

I haven't seen a Chicos in ages, gosh. But some cute stuff right now. Just looked! I have to admit they used to always strike me as a very expensive beach front type clothing shop. A lot of rayon batik with macrame somehow lurking in the corners...

I stopped into a Chico's outlet last year and left with a couple vneck long sleeved tees. They didn't hold up well at all. I was surprised at the variety of stuff they have, though, and I'd definitely consider them in the future. Their over-accessorizing and embellishment makes me hate most of the ways they style their mannequins (and salesladies). My daughters even say "very Chicos-mom" to describe someone who has a few too many accessories (scarf plus necklace plus multiple bracelets plus earrings plus embellished garment).

I've gotten some nice things as Chico's, but I do have that same "over embellished" impression of them in general. Part of the reason, I think, is that the embellishment is scaled for their large-size clientele. In a smaller size it just does't look right. I noticed the same thing with the online vendor Soft Surroundings, whose clothes I love. Both the embellishment and the construction details were designed for their large-size customers. You can buy pants there that fit a 24" waist, but the waistband will still be 2" wide.
