Wow, Carla! Did you say what color you were painting?

I'm scared to get too close to my wardrobe... I swear there's a Gollum in there !

RC - I am familiar with all of Benjamin Moore's pale greens and suspect you are too.

The dining room at my old house was Georgian Green with white trim, white furniture, and white candle sconces on the walls. So pretty.

Promise us you'll post the "after" photos!

I swear a tentacle tried to grab me as I walked by this morning !

Wow, I did a lot yesterday. I moved everything out of the coat closet that doesn't really belong in there, vacuumed the space, moved the table linens into the dining room, donated some coats to free up a little room, and started carrying my handbags down from my dressing room.

I also ordered the depilling device that Angie liked so much. While I was on Amazon ordering a no-contact thermometer.

Haha @Cee I have a wardrobe that sits below eye level, so I feel you on not knowing what on earth is going on in there. I actually bought some spotlights from IKEA to stick to the walls of my wardrobe for this exact reason - to keep the closet goblins out

Ooooh Carla, what a stunning color! I hope you will share 'after' pics!

I finished cleaning footwear and closet shelves yesterday. Today, I repaired a hole in a knit cotton top that I love too much to donate yet...

I'm loving the sound of, and EVIDENCE of these wardrobe chores! Keep up the momentum. You are going like Boeings.

I've just begun the big sneaker scrub. Laces soaking in oxi-clean:

My sneakers are all too new to need scrubbing but I bet all of my white leather shoes could use a little white polish.

I cleaned out the loungewear and got rid of a lot that was not serviceable anymore. This is a category that I don’t replenish often enough. I ordered new slippers and loungewear from Nordstrom.

Angie, I am .ovi g the look of those sparkling white sneakers. You are inspiring me to scrub my white footwear. My white snow boots saw action today in new slushy snow. If the s ow ends tonight tomorrow they will see more action shoveling out

I reorganized my closet yesterday. Now, my outerwear has it's own section, all of my Out and About toppers, tops, and dresses, have another section, the At Home tops and toppers have a third section, and the Layering Tops and Bottoms still share the last section. Much more functional. Next project should be to check all of my shoes for needed attention. I've also spent the last two days washing three weeks of clothes and linens from our SW MH trip. My dryer is taking forever to dry anything and I'm not sure what is wrong. it's only one year old. We've checked the vents and tubing and everything seems OK.

Awesome thread! Starting next week, we have some 'chore time' built into the homeschool schedule (words I thought I'd never say ha) ... so will share any relevant progress we make. Very inspiring to see everyone making the best of a tough situation! xoxo

Chore time is so important when normal routines get exploded! That sense of accomplishment you get when a closet looks immaculate or the sink is shiny (yes, I have done my time with Flylady.)

Scrubbed and drying! Go for it, Joy

I love the evidence of everyone's hard work!

I promise there has been hard work here as well, and tomorrow I will post photos to prove it. If I can take photos in between cooking for 4 hungry men-on-lockdown and one picky vegetarian woman-on-lockdown.

Ok, here are my results.

First photo is my front-hall coat closet with handbag collection.

Second photo is my dressing room shelves now holding scarves, jeans, and on the top shelf my beloved parasol - treasured gift from Little Mr. April's Roommate's family in China.

Ooooh, April, nice work!!

This is fun! I started to combine the season swap with cleaning. I was leary because my FB memories showed snow this week 3 years ago, but I decided to go for it. Washed and put away all the hats, gloves, snowboots, scarves and puffers. Shoe swap is next (where to get pool noodles in isolation? That's a GREAT tip). Last week I did things like clean the dishwasher and washing machine (vinegar and baking soda). I've been ruthlessly discovering donations throughout the house while trying to make space for the entire family to be home together ALL THE TIME.
Hang in there everyone!

Yay, ladies!

Good switcheroos!

All pairs of dirty sneakers are CLEAN and laced! Just finished.

Per April and nemosmom’s request - the closet reveal! (I sort by colour, like Jenn.).

I share a 5.5 x 6ft. Walk in closet with DH. We undertook the job of painting our bedroom and the closet since all of our social activities have been curtailed due to Covid-19 social distancing. It took us 5 days to pack up our clothes, dismantle the closet organizer system, prep and patch the walls, and paint. As we put everything back together, I used the opportunity to wipe down all the furniture with Murphy’ Oil, wash windows, wipe down doors, clean light fixtures, etc.

#1 my side
#2 DH’s side
#3 shoes
#4-5 clothes
#6 the closet seen from the bedroom
#7 previous colours - at some time in the past - purple!, however we lived with the golden brown (previous owner’s choice) for almost 6 years. DH only now told me he HATED it!

APPLAUDING Carla and Mr. Carla! Well done.

Imagine how that purple looked on the walls...

Haha @runcarla I like how your husband didn't say anything about the old colour until *AFTER* you'd painted over it - he'd been holding his tongue for a while!

Carla, when I first saw your pictures, I thought #7 was a switchplate with painters' tape around it.

I finally had my wardrobe critter rehoused !

Thanks, Spartacus dude !
