Ideas for accessorizing: The Uniform Project

Hey guys! As some of you know I personally have just gotten into accessorizing and I still need a lot of help, and I found this really amazing website: http://www.theuniformproject.com/

What it is is this young woman raising money for schools in India by wearing the same dress every day for a year but making it cool and funky with different accessories! Kind of cool, no?

I think it's fantastic! She is cute as a button, her outfits are amazing, and she is doing it for a good cause. Can't see any downside to that. I have thought of so many ideas just seeing those few pictures. I can't say I find the idea practical for everyone since most people are going to have different dress codes for different aspects of their life, but it's certainly an interesting idea and makes you rethink what you "need."

Oh, I just noticed she does a lot of shopping at Beacon's Closet, which is one of the vintage stores in Bklyn I mentioned a few times. Now I have proof that you can find fab things there. I need to head out there again and see what goodies they have. How I miss living just a subway stop away.

I'm so glad you like it Maya! It's true a lot of it is a little impractical, but it's so interesting to see such a different take on fashion, and she clearly has so much fun with it! I'll have to check out Beacon's Closet myself when I move out to NYC. And those shibori head wraps from Etsy are so fabulous! Sigh, they're all sold out now~
