I wore a skirt

And then promptly covered it with a long cardigan because it looks like big tech dudes are not so good at dealing with legs, wtf.

The denim jacket is what I originally wore, but I put my loose if cardy on once I saw the reaction in the halls.

It is a short(ish) skirt but in 2013 you should be free to wear a skirt without having to deal with creepy looks from the opposite sex.

No Dana, it is not too short for a creative business casual wardrobe IMO, it would be considered too short to wear at my office which skews more towards the business formal end of the scale.

Besides if a fella cannot handle the sight of a shapely calf and..a knee cap..then he has serious issues.

I think the shortness may be the reason you are getting stares . . . not innapropriate, but you have great legs and the length of the skirt shows them off in a "betcha didn't know I had this nice of legs" sort of way.

I think it's a smidge too short and tight for work. Though that is counterbalanced by the big cardigan.
Still doesn't excuse co-worker's behavior.

I know the potty shots aren't the greatest, but trust me, the skirt is not tight. It is Eileen fisher thick ponte. If I wore shorts this length it would be dowdy. Why is this too short?

Is this the first time you've worn a skirt to work? If so, part of the reaction may just be the surprise of, OMG she's got legs. The outfits that I've seen (and I doubt I've seen them all) have had some loose flowy elements and your legs have been basically covered up.

No comment about workplace suitability, since I don't know anything about your work environment.

And it is annoying and a bit sad (hello, social skills?). But unfortunately you can't really control other people's reactions.

Oh, I just replied on the other thread IK that with the all black and my dirty screen, your boots looked like ankle straps to me. And that boots and ankle-strap shoes are in the same category (along with choker necklaces) when it comes to conservative dress. If not hoochie per se, all those things are wild child.

Conservative is what it is.

In all honesty, the skirt it is a bit short for work, but it is not vulgar. Perhaps the tights are a bit less sheer than it shows, if so, there is no issue because the ensemble becomes tights with tunic..Good strategy with the cardi.
