I run EXTREMELY cold. My ankle length puffy gets year round use. 70 degrees is absolutely sweater weather to me. But I notice humidity has a lot to do with it. 68 and humid, and I'm fine with a sweater. 68 and dry, we're talking puffy, beanie and scarf!!

I run rather cold, I would say. If we are talking about natural conditions, I am average, although I can tolerate cold better tan heat (but I live in a place of extreme heat, weather conditions similar to southern Arizona). If it is A/C, I tend to run very cold and usually need a sweater and/or a light jacket, but it can also be due to the great difference in temperature outside and inside. I share an office with two male co-workers and even they run cold in the office A/C.

My husband jokes that I have about a 3 degree range of comfort, and I think he's pretty spot-on! I tend to run cold, so I welcome warm summer temps in the 80s. However, I can't sleep when it's too warm, so I have windows open and the fan circulating at night even when it's quite brisk outside (40s or 50s). I sleep in a light chemise, with just a light blanket and thin quilt (even in winter!) So, I guess I'm a completely different creature by night than during the day!

K.M., I'm totally with you on the bracelet-sleeve confusion and short sleeve thick sweater phenomenon. I've come to the conclusion that my arms are particularly temperature-sensitive, so these garments are all but nonexistent in my wardrobe.

I used to run hot! Oh so hot!! All during the 10 year roller coaster of peri-menopause.

But I now haven't had a period for 8 months straight, and I'm getting the sense more and more that I'll likely make it a full 12, marking official menopause.

Because now I am FREEZING all the frickin' time!!

This new development has definitely affected my wardrobe choices and shopping wish list. I am stocking up on lightweight merino wool and silk underlayers. This summer, I could barely tolerate dresses / bare legs / open-toed shoes in AC office settings. Which is a huge change for me.

I am usually one of the coldest people in the room. I always carry a lightweight sweater around with me in the summer so that I won't freeze indoors. Luckily, I work at home, so I don't have to deal with office temperatures. Back when I worked at an office, my teeth would literally chatter at lunchtime when I was no longer running around but was just eating lunch at my desk.

Smittie, I don't understand Fahrenheit at all. When will the USA go metric, I ask?

I would like to come to Canada. I will bring a suitcase full of barely worn knit dresses. And I would be at home with Canada's metric system. And the fall colours.

In v hot weather, I like to cover up, because it feels like I stay cooler that way. I have v few short sleeved tops.

I think I run normal but the flushes were very strange (not any more thanks to HRT).

This post confuses me. In real life, I know some women that wear heavy sweaters when it is 80+ degrees. I always assumed they were the rare, rare, rare exception. Now I see that perhaps there are others of similar nature.

Me? I'm still looking for that arctic air conditioning that everyone on the Forum references. If only ....

My comfortable range is definitely shrinking. I used to love heat, now anything over 23degrees C has me sweating and anything below 18 is too cold.

I heat up very quickly though so I can be shivering when i step outside and too hot 5 minutes later.

I also acclimatise quickly so the first few days of a hot holiday are torture then I'm quite happy.

I run definitely cold. My ideal temperature is 30 C. I also feel lucky to live in a country (Italy) where AC is not so popular as it seems to be in the States.

Ops, I did not translate the temperature to give you an idea. 30 C is 86 F. Up to 35C (95F) I am fine. Above that I can have some difficulties (consider that I live in a very humid area and that makes things worse) but I resist .

I see I am not the only woman who went through menopause and is COLD all the time. Smittie I am waiting for the warmth. I think it skipped over me.

no surprise to me - I'm with Sterling on this one. I'm always hot, with hot flashes, and live in a place that's always hot. DH is happy because I don't fight him on lowering the AC temps. I dream of just a few days of not feeling hot. I'm taking a couple trips to colder place through winter and spring and am crossing fingers for being able to wear some cozy layers.

Also had to laugh when I saw Suz wearing her red long sweater already because it is a lightweight sweater. I tried it on but passed because I didn't think I'd get cold enough to wear it but once or twice all winter.

I run cold, so it is lucky that I live in a mediterranean climate, where it never gets really cold. My hands are usually cool and in winter I often wear gloves and a puffer when walking my dog.

I run cold - and hot - and cold! Haha, thanks menopause! I actually think I run slightly cold. I hate too cold AC and always have a sweater with me in the summer. Nowadays I find a light sweater is better than a heavy one because the heavier ones seem to bring on more hot flashes. The bracelet length sleeves work quite well for me because they keep me warm but a little cooler. At my desk at work I have a footstool that is a heater and a little fan on my desk and sometimes have both running at the same time!

delurked -- yes -- it's funny, right? But that has to do with our different climates more than our personal comfort range, I suspect. Because we basically did not have a "summer" this year -- we had cool wet weather the entire time with only a few hot days. By cool I mean many supposed summer days were 18 or 20 (about 65F) with a cooler north breeze...so those are the days I was wearing the sweater. It would never be warm enough for our -20 winter days (-4F) unless layered over a much warmer piece!

I think my personal comfort range is very narrow. Or so my husband says! I think I run cold, but I also have trouble with heat if it's humid or there is no air circulation. All things equal, I'd take a hot day over a cold one, though. Oddly enough, except when I'm very cold, I hate to wear socks, especially in bed, because my feet feel too WARM. I guess my body has different temperature zones!

Suz, I would absolutely wear a sweater on days that did not get above 18/20C. It doesn't sound strange to me at all.

I will welcome hot flashes.

Sterling, this post confuses me too. It's not aligned with what many Fabbers have been saying for years, and what they wear.

High fiving, Suz, Dianna and Ginger.

Jane, I also cover up in the heat. I'm always covered, it seems. Greg mentioned that recently...

I sit above a refrigerated warehouse at work even though I work in IT so I have a little space heater in my office year round. I dread having to walk through the warehouse as it's kept below 40F even when it's 90F outside. I think I naturally run cold but maybe a little more so since I started working here. At home, I like to keep the temp a nice steady 74F.

Sorry, must say the only people welcoming hot flashes are the ones not having them. I will happily send you the tingling sensations that run up my neck as well.

Suz - your supposed summer are my winters. I could have worn it then, but decided I had other items I would prefer wearing instead.

What Sterling said.
Though I did once work with a guy who kept the thermostat at 60 degrees (said thermostat was unfortunately located in his office.) That was not pleasant.

Oh and also, breezes matter. I don't like the feel of a breeze unless it is very hot, 90+. So 68, humid, but breezy is a yuck. Lol. But the other night, in our weird breezeless humid heat wave... I did the night walk in a sweater! It was exciting and my puffy was sad, hehe.

Cold. My family teases that I'm the only person who works in the garden when it is 30degC and wears a hoodie!

I run hot so my husband and son are constantly closing windows and turning up the heat. On the other hand, anything over 80 makes me horribly uncomfortable and I could barely tolerate Angie's description of what she wears in 100 degree heat.

Living LA I've grown accustomed to warmer weather, I think below 75F is when things start to get chilly haha.

Rachy - if you wore a puffy , beanie and sweater in Manitoba when it was 18C (like today for example) , let's just say you'd be given a wide berth on the street I'm in a sleeveless top and barefeet here in my office. The house is comfortably chilly at 20C - neither ac nor heat is on - which will make for a perfect sleep with a window cracked a bit

I had fun reading all your comments.
Some people are very wimpy, I must say

Kathleen: My office recently put the kabosh on space heaters and mini fridges. Guess who had the space heaters and guess who had the mini fridges!

Rachy and Lisa p: Puffers and Beenies don't come out until it's at least 32F (0C) and even that temperature those things are a bit overkill.
