We need to see them!

There are so many! I don't know go I'd show them all to y'all!

... that should tell me something right there... ha!

".they're skirts! They will last for years" Would you believe I've worn a hole in a sarong? Yep! Wore it mostly around the house for a few years, and a hole in the part that generally wound up in the back eventually split into a tear that cut it in half. I still have the fabric, because it's beautiful.

Now I'm off to search the site for "orphans"!

Fashiontern "orphans" means you won't wear them as you don't have the other things that go with them to make an outfit you will wear. A site I loved before YLF was "Recovering Shopaholic" ( Debbie Roes from San Diego) and she called unworn clothes "benchwarmers" which I also found a useful concept and made a list of mine. Unfortunately she has stopped blogging on that site but the archives are all there still.

Quilt would be a good idea....or Dog Bed

The title of this post alone puts your cred as a closet-cleaner in question, lol.

Thanks, Jenni NZ! I think my "bargain shopping" has turned my closet into a great big orphanage, or the deepest bench in the league. It's almost a farm team, except I have no idea what positions the roster covers.

But I've been working at clearing out for six years! Lol

I like this Justin of a quote my friend does memory Bears Quest takes clothing and pieces and together and creates a beer out of it it's beautiful. I love reading your posts. You talk like a fink yeah in my head sometimes allowed. Where Church well you might not go to church so where I'm just because we're going to work yeah. Later though that would be cool.

Ledonna, what? I'm trying to get into the stream of consciousness, think I'm closer to being dragged along the river bank, where sandbars and tree branches block my flow, lol. But I think it'll work. I hope so, because I want to see more of your adventures with that beautiful baby. What are the "beer"s your friend creates?

I've occasionally draped this fabric over a chair or hung it as a half curtain, think in the future I may use it as "wallpaper" in some kind of little nook or maybe as pillow covers or to upholster the back of a chair to put by the shoe rack in the hallway. The seat gets used, but no one sits back to put their shoes on, right?

I am just curious: If you don't wear your skirts to work, then when and where DO you wear them? And why did you collect so many skirts if you don't wear them very often? Are they from an earlier period in your life when you had a different lifestyle?

I, too, have many skirts. However, I wear all of them. In an average week, I have 10 appointments/activities where I need a skirt (or a dress), and I often choose to wear (comfortable) skirts in my leisure time too.

I realized that I do not own a single skirt. I do own one dress. Several pairs of dress slacks and many pairs of casual pants and jeans.

I am putting off shopping for at least a few more months. After starting training with a personal trainers this past May, I have lost over 10 pounds and probably have gone down at least 1 pant size (upper body pretty much the same).

I guess I just don't like skirts and/or dresses and prefer slacks, yet I don't have a huge amount.

Change your category to jeans and I easily had that many or more at one point. I think it depends on a few things. 1. Do you want a small, highly functional wardrobe? If yes, then you need to edit down the number so you can wear them more often. 2. Do you want to buy more skirts? If so, then again you may need to edit so that you have room for more. But if you don't mind that they aren't worn often and you have closet space that you are ok with, then there's no need to edit anything. As far as wearing them to a bakery, I guess that depends on how comfortable you will be while working.

Did you ever go through these?

Still working on it! Or started to and then got beyond busy at work - and even work is still busy.

The Cat, I am ostensibly a technical writer / office worker - but my hobby job has somewhat overtaken my life in the past year and a half. I need to go back to my professional life, but not as yet...

I guess I don't want so many skirts when I'm not wearing them. But I like these skirts and would wear them if not for the hobby job...
