Who needs a jacket when you dress, hair and makeup are so fab!

I feel your frustration on Danier. I ordered three sizes in a down jacket for my mom at Christmas before we got it right.
I hope that by now everyone's convinced you not to feel like a freak. But if they haven't, SHANNON, YOU ARE NOT A FREAK!! There is so much variety in women's bodies and so much variety in fits that it feels like finding even one item that fits our individual body is like winning the lottery.

You have thrifted and bought amazing pieces that look incredible on you. If you'd tried on this jacket at a thrift store, you would have rejected it immediately without feeling disappointed. The jacket is simply not worthy of fabulous you and eventually you will find something that is.
I thought I'd posted yesterday, but my comment seems to have vanished. I was having computer trouble.
Just wanted to say that I tried on 12-15 jackets last week, and they all fit VERY differently. I have a hard body to fit for jackets, so was thrilled to find a couple that worked. I also had a great sales person who, once she realized what did fit (but on a jacket that I didn't like) started running around pulling things I'd overlooked, because she knew the cut would work.

The one I went to look at, looked AWFUL on me.

So if you're a freak, so am I. Hang in there, don't give up on them yet, just need to be patient for the "right" one to appear for you!
I am sory these didn't work.

Please remember, it is not you, it is the clothes. Your body is perfect just the way it is, and it's Danier's loss that they don't make jackets that fit it! Maybe Danier will wisen up
Nodding along in agreement with everyone, and I totally sympathize! I can feel totally fine with my body until I spend an afternoon trying on pants. I then wonder how on earth I ended up with thighs that are clearly from a body 1-2 sizes bigger than mine. Which of course makes me feel like a freak. But we are not freaks, we're all just human beings who vary in size and shape in billions of ways.

That jacket is lovely, but it's just not the right cut for you. There will be a better one!
Awwww! Boooooo! You aren't a freak, you're a beautiful, fine-boned petite woman. You look like you are swimming in those jackets - does Danier make a petite option?

Suddenly, I'm not feeling the longing in my heart for a Danier jacket. I see the writing on the wall - wrists to the knees and six extra inches of 'pooched' fabric at the back, made for a longer waist...
Thank you ALL SO MUCH for the boost

Unfortunately Danier does not make anything in petite sizing. I've actually written to their Customer Service to kindly make the suggestion that they may want to think about that for the future.

The tiered leather jacket that Suz got in taupe and I got in black was not a petite, but definitely fit more along those lines.

No worries though - onward and upward!
Shannon, I have the same problem! Almost all jackets are too long on the torso, and the shoulders are too wide if the tummy/hip fits. It's not you, it's THEM. THEY make stupid jackets. Repeat after me: It's THEM. Ok?
"So many clothes, especially jackets, I find, are made for women with larger breasts and no hips."

Which mall are you shopping at, Isabel? Let's go together sometime

Shannon, I so hear you and feel like you're occupying my brain oftentimes! I think this frustration doesn't happen when one thing doesn't fit, but when it happens over and over....or maybe that's just me? It's easy to say that it's not me (or you, or anyone else), it's the clothes, but let's face it: we need to be wearing clothes, and when they don't fit, it becomes OUR PROBLEM.

But please try not to let it get you down. At least you have proven you can find wonderful things for your amazing, beautiful self. I wish it wasn't so hard! As one other fashion blogger said (I don't remember who it was, but she has a blog for very very petite women): It's not fair. Not fair that we have fewer options, not fair that we have to cough up extra for alterations. It's simply not fair, but that's how it is.
YOU ARE NOT A FREAK. You are absolutely lovely. I know exactly how you feel when off-the-rack doesn't fit, because I've been in that position so many times. Echoing what others say, just keep looking. (And maybe be willing to have minor alterations done).
