looking forward to seeing your rear view in a blog post soon Angie!

Angie, you will wear them with s-ass, no matter what the view! Oops, hope I can say that here!

Can't wait to see them. I think coral is such a pretty color on blonds!

Thanks, Marianna! You are very kind to say that. And thank you everyone else.

MPJ, I so hear you.

Lisa, I am paranoid about my crotch and thigh area looking distasteful, so I am extra discerning about that fit. It can't be too tight, too loose, too creased, or pulling. To my eye, my bottom looks the same in everything I wear. If the waistband fits and the crotch and thigh area fit - the bottom always looks fine. Rightly or wrongly, the fit on the bottom is a non-issue for me once the other two fits are in place. I guess that makes sense to nobody but me and my body.

Fun! I can't wait to see how you are wearing them. I picture the coral skinnies with the white/polka dotted boxy top that you wore while you were working with Fernanda in Mexico.

Angie, it's funny, but YLF has made me more of a rear-view focused person than I ever was before.

In taking some photos for YLF, I happened to snap a few from the back and I was horrified to see the fit of my jeans, giving me a wrinkled-pancake backside...when I thought the fit was so comfy. Now, I'm a woman obsessed.

I am laughing because I do the same thing- hardly ever look at the rear view- if the front fits- back will also. I can feel if it fits- does that make sense? Love coral pant - looking forward to your post!!

Angie-You make perfect sense. I'm thinking the fit issue goes two ways. Each woman has a fit issue concern (crotch or booty) so that is what they focus on in pants. Or there is a way to tell pants fit by just looking at one issue. If the fit is correct, the issue not being looked at will also work. Very interesting!

Can't wait to see how you style these!

HIGH FIVE, JEAN and LISA!

Thanks Kari and Jonesy. It will be a very bright outfit, so Team Low Contrast best wear shades.

I also never look at the back view, except to assess the amount of waist gappage...and that is a relatively recent phenomenon.

One reason, I think, is because I tend to wear lots of long tops, and my hiney is usually at least partially covered no matter what. But really, I doubt I'd care anyway. I just don't think about it really. The side view is much more important to me.

Glad those skinnies followed you home...with a rest stop at the tailor. Are they jeans or pants?

Did anyone read the story in the NY Times today about the hottest item flying off Bloomie's shelves? J Brand's skinny denim in bright colors, which they figured out would be popular when other denim manufacturers were still in the neutrals. Is this what you bought, Angie?

Given that so many of us were looking for red denim, with mixed success, here it is -

And high five to Maya, too. They are jeans, not trousers. (I really want red trousers though).

Ah yes, Laura! I saw that. My jeans are by a brand called "Current Elliot" - how obscure?? They are sueded and very soft. They were sold as tight rolled up boyfriend jeans, which is not my thing. So I tore down the rolls and made them regular skinnies.

Hahaha i rarely ever remember to look at my backside. But i also don't have much of one so maybe that's why i forget about it lol.

I have my eye on some high waist berry colored jeans at Urban Outfitters...but i don't want to pay $58 for them.

Can't wait to see your coral skinnies Angie!

I've heard of Current Elliot. I feel fashion forward all of a sudden lol! I am happy to hear brights will be around for a bit, since my bright red skinnies will have to wait patiently on the shelf for many more months

I thought I was the only one concerned with crotch fit. I also think my backside looks the same in everything I wear, but getting a good crotch fit is such a struggle! I thought my "crotch concern" was just one of my odd complexes, but I'm glad to hear I'm not alone.

Can't wait to see pics!
I saw coral skinnies at Massimo Dutti, but passed! I have already white, red, black, pale pink and grey skinnies.. no need for more!

Angie, I'm more "crotch-focused" too! Hehehe...

I have a hard time finding the proper rise, now that I've pinpointed the problem with many of the pants and capris I've given away -- most of them simply have too much fabric at the crotch, giving a very unflattering appearance. So I'm with Angie on this one. This is now the second thing I check, after the initial qualification, which is whether something fits me in the thigh, my toughest part to fit.

I do check the rear view, because some things tend to be baggy in the behind on me, but it's the last thing I check.

Angie, the coral jeans sound so cool! I'm a little phobic of bright colors in pants, since I carry my weight in my hips and thighs, so I'll probably live vicariously on this trend.

High five Marianna, Nicole and Janet! Us Crisp Crotch Creators fly next to the Riveting Rearsiders.

*squeee* I love love love the current coral trend and can't wait to see you rocking these, Angie!

I'm still pretty busy laughing about being "Crotch focused"

Angie, prehaps you could blog on guidelines for creating crisp crotches? I'm never really sure if my crotch looks crisp enough :o)

I usually check out my rear when trying on pants because I think of my rear in terms of "A+++ SERVICE. WOULD SIT UPON AGAIN.". Lord knows it needs some anthropomorphization and some appreciation after all it does for me.

You guys crack me up!

I myself have to look at my rear because of flat butt syndrome. I also cannot wear pants that have such a high waisted "Mom Jeans" effect so as to pull up and give the dreaded camel toe.

Recently, with my shopping extravaganza with Angie I bought the Cookie Johnson jeans which are just the right amount of high waisted and stretch. Love them!

Am I still on time to join the Crisp Crotch Creators? That is the part that bothers me in pants or jeans fit.As Angie my backside always looks the same to me (which in my case doesn't necessarily mean it looks good).

Nice to see you comment, Mac!

Celia and Joy, welcome to the CCC

Sandy, those CJ jeans look killer on you - and Inge has the same pair.

I think that my paranoia for a crisp looking crotch point is wasted on most - the same way an extra riveting rear is wasted on me. But that's okay! We all have to go with what makes us feel our most fab

I thought of you Angie when I shopped the sale on Saturday. I didn't see coral jeans, but I did try on some salmon colored ones. Unfortunately the fit was very odd on me. One size was super tight, but the next size up was way too large in the waist, crotch, hip, and bum area. They were Rag & Bone, iirc. No fears though, I did snag my cobalt skinnies. I'm excited to see your post on colored denim, Angie!!

*sigh*

I'm so far behind the learning curve. You all are moving on to colored denim and I am just getting my first pair of white denim. Look for me to be sporting a bright pair of skinnies, say in another year or so.

I can't wait to see your cobalt denim skinnies, Sarah! Come to think of it, some would describe the colour as salmon - not quite red, orange or pink, but somewhere in between those colours. Like watermelon?

Debora, if it makes you feel any better - I had no intention of sporting bright skinnies! I wanted (and still want) red trousers. But my coral skinnies found me and that was that. You score major points with your new white skinnies
