Patience, you crack me up :D. Did it pain you to round off to whole inches and not run some statistical software on the results?

I can imagine wearing wider pants in a softer fabric that falls rather than staying wide, which I guess means palazzo pants?

are you all measuring the circumference? or diameter? or something else?

Circumference of the leg opening

My bootcuts are 20", I don't see myself wearing anything wider.

My wide leg jeans from Express are 23''. They are a dark wash but similar to the first pair of Gap jeans in Angie's post in that they have a crease down the front. They are hemmed for my 2 1/2''booties.

Super happy to hear that the Gap Long and Lean's are still "in". I've worn mine to death for the past year. I've basically abandoned my skinnies for the Long and Leans about a year ago. So I guess that puts me at 19 inches. I never stopped wearing my trouser jeans either. I'll measure those.

I just bought a pair of straight/flare leg jeans from H&M. I'm so used to wearing skinny jeans that I felt that they were HUGE - Just measured them and they are only about 14-15 inches. I am only 5' 4" though.

I can't imagine wearing anything wider than that but maybe my eyes need to adjust.

My wide legs have 27 cm. I want to go for wider for sure!

Thanks, ladies!

I really like Beth's comment about NOT wanting to completely cover your shoe, which invariably happens with an extra wide hem width - when you sport them at the right length that is. The "right length" is in itself debatable these days

Not sure. Whatever doesn't look totally ridiculous with flats! I'll have to experiment a bit too.

I have a pair of trousers that measure 19.5 and wouldn't want to go any wider. They are hemmed for about a 2" heel and have not had much wear this past year. I like trouser cuts better than bell bottoms. Bell bottoms just seem too young and casual, but my eye may change.

I actually really like the look of a pant leg covering the shoes. Guess I'm the only one (not that it matters since I won't be wearing the look myself).

My widest bootcuts come in around 19". Not sure I would go much wider. Beth brings up a great point.

I have a pair of Habitual jeans that I've been loving through the fall and winter with a 22" opening. Based on those, I'd tentatively guess I'd be willing to wear up to a 24" opening, BUT that's with the caveat that I really need to post some pictures and get feedback, since it's entirely possible that they only look good in my head.

Interesting variety here, I'll have to measure what I've got and do a little extrapolation since I don't have anything flared/wide that's not a standard boot cut.

thanks tanya, i'll measure my dress slacks tomorrow when i get dressed.

Aida!!! You have the most flared pallazzos pants I have ever seen!

Maya, I like it when wide flared hem widths totally cover the shoe too. It's the only way to achieve PPL's.

Maya, I like the shoe covered too. My favorite look and VERY early/mid 70's. We never really knew what shoe was under the pants...usually a boot back then.

Angie, hah I wasn't even counting those because I'm not sure I'm up for wearing them in public. For the record, they're 38" My widest bootcuts that I wear are 18", but I'd be happy to wear something wider.

Going with your skinny measure (9-10'') my widest would be probably between 30-35'', Angie. I'm quite tall so I haven't' really thought about it being too wide. I had wider before in fact. I'll take a picture when I get a chance.
