How much do wrinkles bother you?

On clothes that is.

Sally's post on alreadypretty, and the comments, got me thinking. Wrinkles just don't bother me that much. At least not in the summer. I guess I just take it for granted that summer fabrics are going to wrinkle. The kind of fabric that doesn't wrinkle is not going to help me survive my least favorite weather.

I'm not talking about major, slept in it or balled it up on my closet floor kind of wrinkles, I just mean the kind that show up when you've done anything beyond standing stock still in your clothes. Cotton or linen pants that show they've been sat in...who cares?

But I've already admitted to being less than fab. So I was wondering...who cares and who doesn't?

They don't bother me. I much prefer wrinkles to ironing. =P

Angie likes to joke about it: Making peace with the crease!

It seems some of us are far more tolerant than others. I'm absolutely okay with creasing in linen. Doesn't bother me a bit. I don't mind it when my cotton shirts show a bit of creasing, either. But I do iron so that they are quite fresh to begin with.

I haven't been able to make peace with linen wrinkles and I wish I could. I'd love to have a pair of loose linen pants for summer. Plus I hate to iron and the thought of putting in the work to iron something only to have it wrinkled a short time later is almost more than I can bear. I've always wondered if fabrics like linen don't wrinkle so much in humid climates as they do here in they dry climates?

I absolutely hate linen wrinkles. I cannot take them at all.

With other fabrics, it bothers me but I forget about it usually. Except for my Express stuff. That starts to climb towards linen hatred. I have one skirt from Express I'm reluctant to wear because of it. And actually, I cleaned the skirt and they're still there.

Ergh.

I love my steamer. But I can tolerate a FEW wrinkles.

Wrinkles don't bother me at all, but I think that is apparent from my RATE style. I do enjoy ironing and wearing freshly ironed clothes, but then when the wrinkles show up I am fine with that.

It depends on the garment and the way it wrinkles, if that makes any sense. I returned a gorgeous turquoise shirt dress because the fit was just a bit off ( could have sized up and altered), and it wrinkled like crazy when I sat for just a moment. The sit-wrinkles highlight a part of my body I prefer not to call extra attention to, so it was the last little detail that swayed me toward not keeping the dress.

I do iron all my clothes but I love linen & the way it wrinkles

When I worked & gave presentations I didn't wear anything that was likely to be wrinkled by the end of the day - it just didn't feel professional.

Cannot stand wrinkly clothes! That's one of the Easton's why I don't wear linen.

Clothes? Well, yeah - they bother me, but not so much in the summer, and not as much when it's natural fibres or linen items. I think it really depends on the item. Normally I don't like wrinkles *at all* - but then, I'm relaxing quite a bit when it comes to things like boyfriend jeans that are hung up to dry and aren't perfect once dried - because I'd feel totally dumb ironing my BF jeans.

Don't laugh, but it did cross my mind.

disclaimer: this is coming from someone who has ironed Irish linen tea towels, just because they look better that way and fold better.

I like my clothes to start out unwrinkled, but if they get wrinkled during the day it doesn't really bother me. I am on Team Embrace The Linen Wrinkles.

On my body? Not a fan!

I do not like to look wrinkled at all - scrunched sleeve wrinkles are absolutely fine. Generally, clothing wrinkles do not mesh well with my membership of Team Polished, Team Strict Clothing, and quite formal and "proper" personality. But I LOVE linen shirts and dresses!!! And embrace those creases with all my style soul. Always have and always will. It doesn't make sense, but there you have it.

I like the start out ironed, but then I actually enjoy the normal "sit-down" wrinkles that occur, like creating at the knees and elbows. I also like Angie's personal guideline to only wear one linen piece at a time. I've adopted that as well.

Thanks for the interesting answers...lots of variation as usual, but it seems wrinkles have some acceptance.

It's not that I love them, I just think they are pretty much like wrinkles on my face...they are going to happen and there isn't much anyone can do about it!

I'm remembering something my mother would say...and to put it in context, I was a teenager in the 70s. Polyester back then was not what it is today..."cheap polyester" was literal. So my mother would say "be proud of your wrinkles. They mean you can afford the best material."

Ha! That's one way to look at it!

I was much younger then, and a temp, and I probably deserved it. But it was a linen outfit, for Pete's sake!

I don't like wrinkles and avoid 100% linen only for that reason. But some pieces have crept in anyway.
