Ah--- now I realize why I look homeless next to all you lovely ladies! Well, there are a lot of reasons, but serious lack of good shoes is one of them.
I have 4 pairs of shoes total (5 if you count slippers, 6 if you count shower shoes). Now, technically I have many, many more than that--- however, they are all on their way to consignment. I don't think they should count if you can't wear a single pair for more than 20 minutes. Between complications from an old injury and my feet changing sizes (for the same reason) my shoe collection has been decimated and it has been 3 years spent trying to start again.
Right now I have:
Brooks Cascadia 4 running shoes (they stopped making and now I have to find a replacement, *cries*)
Montrail recovery flip flops (very gear-ish, but I am desperate, 4-6 hour shoes)
Lace up oiled leather cowboy boots ( 2 inch heel, 8 years old, need replacing, 8 hour )
Naturalizer "ugly" mary jane wedges (had to have something to wear to graduation, the college required pumps-- 1 hour shoes)
I also have a pair of Uggs driving moc type slippers (sadly they are my favorite, but luckily you won't catch me wearing them out of the house-- more because I don't want them ruined then to keep up appearances--- I really am desperate here!)
I have tried multiple pairs of every arch support and comfort brand out there, and most of the types that you can remove the insole for your own orthotic. Everything from clarks to cole hann air to birks failed.
I desperately need new running shoes, a new pair of casual tennies, a pair of dress shoes/dressier boots, and a pair of hiking boots or boots to wear out and about.
The running shoes I will find. I am also going to order a pair of jack purcells and pray they work. For the other two I am at a loss.
