15 bags in total.

I used to have close to 30 bags but have been editing out mid priced bags over the past two years since my mostly WFH lifestyle doesn’t give me much opportunity to use bags anymore.

3 nylon Tumi cross bodies are my daily bags for errands, the black for fall/ winter, cornflower blue for spring/summer, and mid blue for travel (it has a matching tote).

My 2 designer bags are when the mood strikes and special occasions. Both are sentimental, LV tote and black Aspinal of London midi tote.

The 3 mid priced bags, ivory Tory Burch, brown JW Pei tote, burgundy Vince Camuto crossbody are good in office bags for work, and for errands or dinners when I’m in the mood because each has shoes that perfectly match them, They are probably the next bags I edit out in the future if I wanted to downsize my collection further.

The blue nylon Tumi tote is my travel carryon bag and is used with the matching crossbody bag.

The tan leather crossbody and Positano tote are from a recent trip to Italy. Haven’t used them yet. Plan to once summer weather is here.

The small black Coach shoulder bag is my first ever Coach bag. Rarely used now but high sentimental factor so I’ll always keep it.

Not shown in finds are a Vera Bradley beach tote I use for the beach to hold towels, a Lenovo laptop book bag for work, and a canvas tote for shopping (some states and / or countries require bringing your own bag or buying a bag from the store so that’s when I bring my own tote bag. I like that canvas can be folded up small for shopping.)

No bags on my wishlist. At some point I’d like to further reduce the number of bags I have but for now I’m good with what I own.

I haven’t counted yet but I know I have more than I need. At the moment I am looking for a cream bag. I am also always on the hunt for a red bag.

ROBERTA your bags are fun and very fab.

I have 11 bags and will not be adding anytime soon.

I have 4 bags that I use regularly:
a light-blue practical backpack - I use it every day, to go to work, for errands, grocery shopping
a white dressy bag - for when I want to be dressier
a white clutch
a light-blue clutch with a shoulder strap - recent gift from a friend.
Then in the garage there is a box with I think a dozen old bags, still in good conditions, which I haven't decided what to do with yet.

On my wishlist there is an elegant chic backpack in a merry color.

I plead the 5th! Between Kate Spade novelty bags, MZ Wallace, Tokidoki backpacks, Brahmin and even Chanel, I refuse to admit to the number! I love having just the right matchy matchy bag for my outfit!

Thank you! Fun to see all your bags and read about collections!

Argh! You made me do it, I photographed them all. I am not at all a Fancy Brand Bag person. But I can’t seem to resist throwing another one on the stack, lol.

1-5 Bags I thrifted. I use the ones in 1 and 2 a lot, the others occasionally.

6-8 Bags that were gifts. Love them.

9. Nylon(?) bag from a museum gift shop long ago, love it.

10. Also some kind of woven nylon. My mom loves this one.

11-13 Very old ones rarely used, but the canvas messenger bag especially is too practical for some purposes to let go of.

14. Sort of a gear-type bag.

15-16 Faaaancy handbags that belonged to my great-grandmother and grandmother. Obviously rarely used but keepers.

17. Target backpack for toting my laptop, shoes, and random stuff to my office.

18. Messenger bag made (not by me) of wool clothing scraps.

Whew, I think that is it.

Interesting collection COOKIE. I particularly like 7, 12 and 13. 13 looks very versatile to me.

I’m a bag person, so really enjoying this thread and seeing all the lovely collections. I have about 20 leather crossbody, shoulder or hand held bags, of which only 5 were bought new. I also have 5 clutches, 5 fabric or straw totes, and 5 wristlets. I have had most of them a long time, and hang onto them all as it is harder and harder for me to find quality bags when thrifting these days. I think they are snapped up to be sold online. My most used bags are two Coach bought at NAS and a Fossil cognac leather crossbody. I certainly don’t need any more bags but I can’t help looking! I would love a chartreuse bag. I had one once and let it go, and always regretted that. That color goes with everything I own.

Cookie, love your inherited Art Deco style bags! Fabulous!

Without going to my closet and counting, I’m estimating I have around 30. That counts daily-type bags, leather totes, backpack-style bags, cross bodies, and evening clutches. Some are very rarely used but kept for special occasions, some are specific mood items, some are in my holding zone because I’m not feeling the style at the moment but I still like them. Some of them are 15 years old — in the past 5-7 years I have bought way fewer bags than I did back then, but I’m reluctant to let some go when they are very well made and still appeal to me in some way.

I’ve let go of a few lately that just don’t work for me. Some fall in the category of “should work as a daily use bag but just doesn’t have enough space.” Some are too floppy and boho for where I am now, while others were too stiffly structured and not fun to use.

Janet, you and I still have our beloved metallic Rebecca Minkoff backpacks!

Thank you, Irina! I need to find ways to use them a bit more often.

I am enjoying seeing people’s collections.
