My favourite shopping area is about 4 miles away about 15 mins by car and I'm there most Saturday's !! x

This is an interesting question - makes me realised I am quite spoilt for choice!

Thanks to the wonders of Google Maps, I can tell you I am:

- 7km/4.5 mi from central melbourne (take the tram there, who wants to park in the city?)

- 9km/5.5mi from chadstone, my fave mall (12-20 min drive depending on traffic)

- 2.5km/1.5mi from Chapel st, one of Melbs main shopping streets. Not sure why don't I go there more often! (I drive if I have someone to meet/an appt to keep /am travelling with another person, otherwise I walk it or bike it there)

- 400m/0.2mi to my closest supermarkets, a few boutiques and funky gift stores (walk there, of course!)

And most importantly, I am 600m/0.4mi to the beach!!! I really love where I live!

I am ten seconds away from my favourite shopping area (Oasis, Mango, AWear, New Look, Brown Thomas, River Island, Primark, Schuh, Clarks, vintage/ thrift shops, French Connection, United Colours of Benetton, Debenhams) as I live just above one of the shopping streets in my city. It is so bad for my wallet, and made SYC so difficult.

Another shopping centre is a 15 minute bike ride or bus journey, and I would go there about once a month as the only H&M, Topshop and Zara in the city are there. I used to live beside this shopping centre for six months, and I was probably in there once every week. There is a TKMaxx just outside the city, and I go there every three or four months when I have a few hours to kill.
