Our garden is grey from falling ash from the massive Dixie fire in California. Yesterday our air was “hazardous” with an AQI of over 300. I’ve never seen it that high. It has dropped down into “unhealthy”, in the 170s. Still bad, but somewhat breathable. I went out to pick some stuff from the vegetable garden. The peaches are quite small, but delicious, with feta and homegrown basil.

Deadheading roses last month has resulted in new buds and blooms on 4 of the bushes! I couldn’t resist tucking a few of the very fragrant peach coloured ones into a bouquet. It’s high summer in the garden, but I can see the fall colour plants getting ready for their turn.
