I look but don't touch. Why I don't know.

Brain dump mainly but also pin things with prices so i get emails (at least sometimes) when they go on sale. Hmmm... Maybe i should stop doing that actually since then i feel this pressure to consider buying whatever item. I need to get some different boards going for my imaginary life etc and clean up my main board. I pin lots of sewing patterns too so i can find them again later when i might have time to sew.

So here is my Pinterest inspiration board. Almost inanely predictable. At least I am consistent...

I have made inspirational pins in one board and then more practical, realistic pins in a second one. I am still trying to figure out how to use pinterest.

Maybe use a secret board to upload and organize my own outfit photos?

I also feel I need to put a plug in former forum member Jonesy pinterest. She always has interesting pins, especially from the runways.

Like Caro and Marcy. But I also have a secret wishlist.

I do 'dump' but every couple of months I look back and look for themes and directions and leit motifs. I don't copy much, however.

Well when I used it I felt like pinning something was a substitute for owning it. It gave me a little ping to pin then I could move on.
It helped me establish a palate for my spring/summer shopping last year. I think it helped me figure out how to work with a season's colours if that makes sense. Now I seem to be doing that without needing Pinterest.
Not sure why I stopped using it but I do go back to refer to my home decor pins because that is a longer term. Fashion pins were more whims for me.

Oh and I have a board for dressing strategies... how to tie a scarf, capsules, hairstyles etc

Guilty of dumping/hoarding! I go through phases where I am pinning like mad (2012) and pinning less (2013). I like to have lots of specific, themed boards so I can organize everything. It is hard to edit boards but very easy to delete boards, that's why I'm ok with having many boards. I have one board that has over 400 pins, I call that unmanageable; that was my aha moment that I had to change my pinning ways.

I've been meaning to go back and have a week or two of Pinterest inspired outfits. Anyone else ready for a challenge?

Here are my boards if anyone is interested.
