Vix - they are a straight silver leather - not as shiny as metal & very soft so I image they will gain some texture as they are worn.

Angie they are very soft & comfy I wore them for about 4 hours yesterday with no problems at all. I have fussy feet too & the only thing I would do is add an innersole as the bottom of my feet get sore if I walk all day. Apparently the fatty deposits on the soles of the feet thin as we get older - who knew?
The heel is just on 2 inches - it looks higher as the "heel" of the shoe comes up above where the heel of the foot actually sits, hope that makes sense.
I'd be more than happy to buy them for you Angie if they do not ship internationally.
