My quest for HEWIs hasn't changed much. For instance, I am still looking for a nice, affordable MIDI trenchcoat that is NOT beige or black. Deep blue would be fine. So would white, grey, burgunder, lilac, denim blue, or teal.

My one HEWI- perfect black knee high boots- is on hold right now. I usually put some effort into looking every fall, ever hopeful that I’ll find the perfect pair to enjoy at the beginning of the season. But, those really only make sense when I’m going in to the office. Instead, I’m looking for 100% cotton jeans or utility/cargo pants, with bonus points for organic cotton and/or sustainable manufacturing. Thus might turn into new HEWI!

I think I had found one HEWI! The olive boots that I had wanted for over a year.
I would like something also to take the place of my cobalt patent boots which are scuffed, but I will keep them for now because I feel like another pair would never appear, even though I keep my eyes peeled

My HEWI is an ankle length puffy, preferably a slim fit with a waist. I’ve been wanting a new one for years. I may have to bite the bullet and buy online and also spend real money. Have to admit I’ve always been cheap about this essential for me: Burlington Coat Factory used to get leftovers.

Narrow boat on Regents Canal by London Zoo, so I can hear the animals at night and I can stay up in London a couple of nights a week! I am so not a WFH gal!

And more practically, knee high and over the knee socks. My feet get so cold. Then the more glamorous, a winter coat that fits over jackets.

If I find the perfect wide-leg jeans (full length, not cropped), I'll keep them. I've been looking for a year and have ordered and returned probably half a dozen pairs. :-/ I might try these next.

Also looking for some vintage bootcuts (tomboy/menswear style -- slightly flared at the hem and not super fitted in the hip/thigh), but not shopping in-person at thrift/consignment stores makes this one almost impossible for now.

Last fall, I was hoping to find a long wool coat with an oversized fit for layering over blazers and chunky cardigans, but I think that one is going on hold for now. I don't plan on wearing anything out in the the world that can't be thrown in the washing machine as soon as I get home, which means blazers won't be getting much play this year.

I don't have any HEWIs at the moment. However, DH's "HEWI "is a winter residence in Arizona where we can escape from the Seattle gray and gloom. DH forgets that he's retired and I won't be for another six years.
