Thanks Rae:). I was pretty sure Angie wouldn't be recommending sports or leisure track pants but had to ask. In Australia, there are many people who think actual track pants are suitable attire for almost any occasion:(

Deborah, they are very much like these Alexander Wang track pants in their design and details, down to the elasticized waist/drawstring/zippered legs (sold out but retailed for $425 on Shopbop) http://www.shopbop.com/track-p.....904002.htm

Purchased!

Cannot wait to try. Already loving this new Savvy department. Thank you Angie!

OK, I know in the blog post I said slouchy pants were totally NMS, but hmmm, elastic waist track pants? I'm reconsidering! These could be great for postpartum sweat pants! I would love a pair of comfy lounge-y pants that still look like real clothes. I ordered it with this sweatshirt in orange:

The sweatshirt even zips up the side...maybe this could work for nursing....
Of course, these may be way too baggy/dropped crotch for my comfort level, but I'm willing to give it a chance if it lets me hide my 4th trimester no-longer-cute post-baby bump! Do you think these two pieces will work together or does the top need to be fitted?

Thanks Claudia for the link! I have no idea how to style baggy pants because it's so far outside my norm, so this helps! I hope these work out for me!

Oh these are fab Angie! I understand that many don't care for the elastic drawstring waist, but I can see them paired with a fab semi-tucked slouchy top and a great fitted blazer to give the outfit structure for work...with heels or booties...

Sveta & Ceit - we MUST try a knock off of these in Canada!

Yes, I am cruising around seeing if anyone in Canada has one out!

Same...hopefully, one of us will be lucky Ceit!

Debs, they are woven pants and look dressier than track pants. (Thanks, Rae!).

Oh, wonderful news! Did you manage to nab a pair, Angie?

I didn't because they never restocked the XS.

I picked up my pair this afternoon. LOVE! Already took pics and will post later tonight, PST.

I just tried on a pair. LOVE!

Very soft and really nice silk-like fabric. Draped beautifully. Well made and well worth the price. I found them to be extremely flattering and elegant looking on. These are definitely dressy enough to wear to work or for an evening out.

This may be premature, but I am going to say size up for the best fit -- if you are on the tall side.

I ordered both an L and an XL but only received the XL in this shipment, but I have a feeling that this size will be the keeper. For comparison I wear a 30 or 31 in Paige Denim jeans and a 10/12 in pants and skirts.

I chose to wear these high up on my natural waist, there was plenty of room to do this and still have a small crotch drop. The drawstring is sewn to the sides, it doesn't run through the whole waist band. I liked that because it kept the back view smooth and the gathers in front and also kept the pockets slanting forwards. They fell in a great spot and there were no pocket bulges happening. These pants really just skimmed over everything and created a nice smooth silhouette and leg line. They smoothed over the tummy and hips and felt great on.

I measured the inseam on this XL pair and it is 30" but there is a drop to the crotch so they are just long enough, but there is zero bunching at my ankle. These are also quite tapered when the zipper is closed, I had to open the zipper a little to get my foot through.

I would have liked a longer inseam for a little bit of ankle scrunch, these will be too short for Sveta, I am afraid. I am 5'9".

Claudia! YAY!!!! I'm so happy for you!! I didn't know you were so tall

Angie, thank you for bringing these to our attention. We are so lucky to have you!

Thanks for the great review Claudia. I did order a Medium, ummm.. perhaps I should have gone for the Large. I'm usually a 28- 29 in premium denim, and 8 in most bottoms. Right?

I like them.

Too bad Nordies will cost me arm/leg/leg/arm in duties! I'll look for them around here.

Zap, so hard to say because bodies that wear even the same size are so variable in how things are distributed. I also always want to err on the side of looser than tighter for myself. I can advise better once I see how the L fits me compared to the XL.

I carry my hip weight on my high hip, my lower hip and thighs are slender, and I have the middle age waist thickening going on now!

Here are my pics.

These are *unstyled* - just wanted to show the fit. I'm wearing the pants at my low waist.

1. Wearing with the pants tucked into booties.
2. The front zipper. Not loving them on my short legs. I feel like a side zipper might have been less odd, but maybe that's because I remember the 80s.
3. Wearing with the pants over booties, and front zipper exposed.
4. Just for kicks, here's a pic of a similar pair of pants from the GAP - their pure line, I think. Bought a few months ago originally for pajamas! Put them on and realized they would look cute with heels for a night out. Thought I was crazy, but some reviewers online said the same thing. Only showing this to echo the sentiment - leave no retail stone unturned!
5. Closeup of the waistband and pocket bunching on the GAP pants. Not loving that. I will probably remove the pockets at some point. Note that the Leith pants do NOT do this!

I do agree with Claudia's review entirely, except for the sizing part, because I am 5'2". So for me, the S (my usual size) was perfect, the crotch was plenty dropped, and I had a ton of scrunch at the bottom. For more reference, I'm a size 4-6, and typically a size 27 in jeans.

Thanks for the pics Kristin! I'm so excited to see someone modeling them -- they look awesome!

Oooh, thanks for posting pics, Kristin. We are almost the same size so I am excited to see the pants looking fab on you. I like the front zips! Claudia, thank you for the review. Really helpful.

VERY helpful, Kristen. Thanks! They look splendid.

I received the size L (12) and wanted to let you know the fit difference between these and the XL (14-16).

Very little difference in the waist (less than an inch - with the drawstring and elasticized band it felt insignificant on ). No difference in the leg inseam, both are 30". One inch difference in the rise/crotch drop (so 2" of extra fabric there, front and back seams on the XL).

I would recommend if you are tall, or long in the lower torso, sizing up wouldn't hurt.

Now I need to decide if I should keep the L as well, for back up!

I'm so daft, I didn't realize people were posting their results of their pants adventures on this post.
Kristin, I like your stylings! I am eager to try some more "military" looks and try tucking into short boots. As well as more dressy looks.

Hmmm--I MIGHT be able to wear to work for a Friday deskwork day....would have to find the right kind of top styling.
