Help with trouser length!! ETA new pics for Angie.

New Years resolution: hem 4 pars of trousers that have been hanging in my closet for 2 months!!! I am having trouble with these tapered trousers and I know that it's partly because I'm not used to the silhouette. So I have them pinned where I think they should be. Does this look right? Do they need to tapered more?

The length on the grey boot looks right. The camel boot looks too short.

Liz - one reason I'm trying tapered trousers is because you're supposed to be able wear them with more than one heel height. I have to admit this is throwing me off which is why I'm wondering if they need to be tapered a little more to look right. Or if it's just that my eye needs to adjust.

I am no help on PPP! I still struggle with it, and I only have one pair of shoes with a heel height over 1 inch!

Oh yes, I know what you mean. I was thinking that too, but I have a pair of straight legs (much skinnier than the pair shown here) that I hemmed too short to wear with the boots I want to wear them with. Someone wiser correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the tapered style that can be worn with multiple heel heights would slouch at the top of the shoes.

Well they don't really look tapered to me, more of a classic trouser cut that "should" be worn longish, I suspect.
If you search on tapered trousers either in the forum or the homepage you will see some tapered trou... Although they vary quite a bit in degree of tapered-ness, the ones worn short to show some shoe are definitely more tapered than these.

Jules - I'm thinking along the same lines that they need to be more tapered. And I wonder if that is partly the length I have to take off since I'm short and these are a regular. I haven't taken a tape and measured but the actual bottom might be more tapered than where I'm going to need to hem them.

I like them looooooooong. No need to taper, but they need to be longer if you're going to wear them with heels.

Waving to trouser twin. I should experiment with mine some more -- I am trying to sort out if I should shorten mine. How much length is too much? I I wear mine with flats they kind of puddle a bit, but look more like #2 in your second set of photos. Is that acceptable?

Ceit - I expect that I'll be wearing them with flats most of the time but wanted the option to wear them with a heel. I'm going to have to go look through your WIW's to see how you've worn them.

I have the same trousers and have tapered mine to fit more like man trousers. I like them much better this way and really can wear them with different heel height now - and they do not get wet in the rain!
