Help Seeking Style Moniker and Style Words

Hi All,

Angie suggested today that I should start a thread to seek the forum's collective wisdom on trying to find a style moniker and some style words for myself. I think it's rather fun trying to encapsulate someone's style in just a few words. However, I just haven't been able to quite figure this out all on my own.

My wardrobe does tend to lean heavily into classics, but I want to feel up-to-date as well. I like my fashion to be easygoing and comfortable. Nothing too stiff, precious, or fussy.

I've included a few photos below for some of you who aren't familiar with my current style .

I loved to hear any of your thoughts and suggestions. I think it would be great to have a style moniker and some style words to guide me in 2025.

FRENCH (That's honest since you live in Montreal! Also, you remind me of the stylishly practical and fabulous women I saw daily when I lived in France )

Words that come to mind: modern, classic, soft natural = neo-bohemian (or urban bohemian).

The 1st word that popped into my head was elegant
Also comfort, but not in the “your clothing look comfortable”, but more like Dee is comfortable in her clothing. Hope that makes sense. I’m terrible at these style moniker thing.

I see what Angie sees - my first thought was European but French is more evocative of your style I think. What I am seeing is classic with flair, sensible but stylish, and I will let someone else find the exact term to encapsulate that all!

I like the word Soft that Carla added too, Dee! And Elegant is a favourite I see

Oh you ladies are just wonderful and I really appreciate all your interesting impressions and suggestions.
Angie- You’ve suggested before that there’s a certain french aspect to my style, I am actually an anglophone living in Quebec but my father is french. I’ve only been to France once but I really love the idea of stylishly practical.
Runcarla- Haha I see you have a fondness for burgundy with outfit #4. thanks for your suggestions, I have never thought of my style as bohemian before
Kkards- Angie suggested elegant too, and relaxed because I do feel at ease in my clothes, so I do understand what you mean by comfortable. Yep, figuring style monikers and words is tricky, but I appreciate that you chimed in.

Note the elements listed in the photos below, and consider the signatures of your style! You listed: ditsy prints, knit or quilted vests, cardigans, colour and texture!

I read last week that Neo-bohemian will be in evidence in 2025, and it’s more refined than stereotypical ‘boho’. Relaxed styling, interesting textures, natural materials, that kind of thing.

I love Angie,s suggestion. Charm is very on track. I often see a bit if quirky or whimsy in your outfits, either in you jewelry choices or your patterns, your
colours and I think this is your Charm. Modern classic with a touch of whimsy.

Oh, I love this set of outfits -- you look fantastic in every one! And you've picked some of my very favourite outfits of the year. Every time I clicked on an image I thought: I remember that one!

I definitely think French needs to be part of your descriptor -- after all, though you don't show an outfit including them here, stripes are your favourite pattern! And you wear the wide legs so very well. Practical, soft or semi-structured and charm also resonate for me.

I'm going to give some thought to a moniker, though, because that can be most helpful of all (for some of us, at least). Let me sleep on it and come back.

I didn’t see French but I’m not that familiar with French style. I can only do it as a joke for Bastille Day! (Pics below)
I think you do classic but updated versions, so my thought is Cool Classic. Not the temperature cool or the seasonal cool but the interesting cool!
