Antje, the COH Kelly's come in both a high and a low rise. I'm guessing you tried on the low rise? I seem to recall the high rise was at least as high as the Ambers, if not a smidge higher.

The Joe's also flattened out my butt, which is already pretty flat to begin with. I think this is a factor not of the cut, but the pocket size and placement. The pockets are small and they have them angled and spaced out wider. Does that sound about right?

COH Elson's - if you did not like the rise on the Amber's, don't bother with these. These two jeans are exactly the same, except for the legs (straight vs bootcut). If you liked how these fit except for the rise, try the Hutton's. Those are slightly higher than the Elson's and Amber's. They are also dressier - more like a trouser jean. But oooohhhh, so comfy! The denim is so soft, it's like wearing comfy old pj's.

Do you think you'd ever where a super-skinny jean? Because these are very comfy (tons and tons of stretch) and have a very high rise (10 inches) - but they are fitted like leggings or tights:

I would only recommend these for women with skinny calves (my calves are 17 inches) because otherwise you may not be able to get them on, they are THAT skinny. They do shrink when you wash them - mostly vertically, not horizontally. They do stretch out a bit with wear, but not so much that they bag out in the butt and knee and such.

Not sure if anyone's still checking this thread, but wanted to back up Brianna on Simon Chang jeans. Bought a pair the other day and am wearing them as we speak. Love love love the feel of them. Nice stomach-flattening effect, which is key for a curvetastic lady like myself. A nice amount of stretch that I suspect won't expand too much ofer time, though of course that remains to be seen. Mine are a very very dark wash that look almost black, apparently. I think I'll try to post a pic here to get feedback.

One other question, hough. Do you ladies know of any premium brands that cater to someone of my curvier size 16 body type? Bare in mind that I too live in Canada and don't have access to Nordstroms and the like.
