So. I am in love with my Citizens of Humanity Racer jeans in Patina wash. So in love I bought a second pair in a different colour (taupe) which, predictably, I don't wear as often. I probably should have bought a second pair in blue, and could still do that.

How do I love them? Let me count the ways:

  • Best fit I've ever had. (I did size up -- I bought these 2 years ago and don't know if sizing changed since then.)
  • Perfect fabric -- feels almost like 100% cotton, just a hint of stretch but they don't "stretch out" so much as get more comfortable with wear.
  • I can wear them full length or wear them rolled up as slim crops.

The only problem is, they are low rise, and I really want a mid rise jean or higher as my new favourite.

In the fall, I bought the Arielles thinking they'd be the ticket. I had to size down. And they're not the same fabric! These are more stretchy. They're fine. Very comfortable and reasonably flattering. But I don't like them anywhere near as much. The Racers truly feel like the "ur" jean for my body. Read the rave reviews at Nordstrom and you'll see what I mean.

My question is this: Is there a version of the Racers (same fabrication) in a mid-rise? I don't have a store near me to test them all out. Any Citizens fanatics know which models might be similar? I looked on Nordstrom's site and Shopbop and couldn't find it, but maybe I missed something. There is a Citizens store in Toronto so I could call there and maybe go there on my next trip -- but that won't be for quite a while.
